That Darn Manix

Good on ya for turning it in, even though there is always a chance the L/F employees may take it.

A while back i found a SAK single blade on a hiking trail. I pocketed it, intending to leave it at the Rangers office at the trial head when i got back. About an hour later i saw a kid ahead of me doing the "looking at the ground" shuffle , walking back and forth, peering intently on the ground. I figured he lost the knife, right before i was about to ask him he asked me "hey MR, did you find a Swiss Army knife anywhere ont he trail? i lost a blakc on, single blade with a green cord"

sure did i said, handing him his knife back. He was so happy, thanked me over and over. "i should have put the lanyard thru my belt he said, my dad said so and i forgot"

great day! the kid was out with dad and granpa, they were teaching him bushcraft skills! There is hope for humanity yet!
 
Had it been me that lost the knife and knowing that I may never recover it I would have hoped that someone who appreciates fine cutlery found it and put it to good use rather than have it sit in a box and be stolen by someone who won't enjoy it as much. I would go back and see if it's still in the box. If it is...claim it. If not...well, you know someone stole it.

Good job on the return. I have a question, are you sure it was a manix. the manix and 83/80mm mini-manix are both well built substantial blades. I doubt I could tell unless I measured the blade length or had them side by side.

It was a full-sized Manix. I've held the two side-by-side many times at the knife shop LOL.
 
Buy your own one.

Get a foliage green one if you can or get one off E-bay or something.

Another option is to wait until Eric is finished with the S90V, nested ball lock, Mini Manix, that Sal was talking about a while ago. :)

I thought they were only "thinking" about it, and if it is released, it will be in 2009 sometime.

I'm waiting for that, though.
 
Most the dealers are out of the F/G, but you can still pick one up off eBay, but they are getting fewer by the day. (I've bought 5 since they was released)
