That does it! Time for a bigger ride!

Good choice going with the Trailblazer! My Uncle has one and it has been flawless for over 2 years now. That 4.2 liter I-6 is a torque little engine and will pull close or over 6,000lbs. Plus the build quality is the best around , the doors open and close more solid/smooth then his neighbors 2002 BMW!

I drive a 2003 Silverado and love it! I have a topper for my dogs and carry them with me alot. I just like having a truck because you can do so much more with it than a car and it is also safer if you do get into a accident. I don't think I'll ever but a car again...well maybe a musscle car!:D

I went to all three days of last years blade show with my 1990 Civic.
Camped near that theme park outside the suburbs.
Man that commute scared the hell out of me!

Glad you got it worked out, quietone. You aren't the type of driver that gets under my skin.

Firkin, we need to see some gun ports on those models..

My Ramcharger's engine blew a month ago. Darn. I don't have the money to rebuild a 44o.

Y'know, I remember a time in my life when one of those would have made a more than ideal home.

Which reminds me, I need to get some kind of cross-stitch that says,
"Home is where the heart is", of course, with two crossed khukuries on it as well...

My Mazda pickup did it's first surprise - broke it's timing belt a week ago Saturday.

No replacement of belt was recommended in owner's manual. First thing I checked when I bought the truck. Fortunately no damage to engine. Just $250 out of pocket with no warning.

Dang, don't you hate when that happeneds? (broken timing belts) What Engine does your truck have?

The Timing belt on my 1.8L L4 Diesel broke 4 and a half years ago. Almost totalled the engine. Lucky for us though, our uncle was able to fix it and get the car back to us in a few months. Only problem now is, 30,000 (160,000 appox on the car) miles later 2 cylinders developed Low compression so it's a beast to start and went from getting 50mpg to about 37mpg.

quietone, Good desistion on the Trail Blazzer. I've heared that they are really nice and I'm partial to GM cars/trucks.:) MY only complaint would be that it doesn't come with a Diesel.:p lol

Mechanics I respect have said over and over again a diesal has no place in a typical truck or car. There are some new ones coming out that supposedly are good.

The bottom line is if you have some major work to do get a diesal. If you do not, but commute to the grocery store and go camping and occasionally haul a trailer, do not.
But what do I know? Nothing. Maybe Bill knows something.

How many miles are on your Trailblazzer? If you read in the owners book it will tell you under "new vichel break in" to keep your speed under 55mph untill you hit 500 miles. That will really help your engine over the long term. Also change out your oil at 500 miles then again at 1,500 and last at 3,000 miles and then at regular 3,000 to 5,000 intervls. Keeping fresh oil in the engine during break in will really help the engine last a much longer than if you go a full 3,000 with the factory oil! Trust me I did a ton of research on oil in new engines when I bought my Sliverado. It will cost a little more but if you plan on keeping this car for 100,000-200,000 miles it will really help it get there with alot less trouble. The dealer and others might argue this with with you as they did with me so I did alot of online research on this and found out a lot! Just change that oil at 500 miles and you will be good to go!;)
