My retailer had a Hinderer XM-24 in O1 steel and wood handles looooong after every other outlet had sold out. By the time my pennies were saved, it vanished. Still haven't gotten over that one.

I'm casually keeping an eye out for a Spyderco K2 at a reasonable price, but like yourself, it's something I can probably live without.... especially since I came across a Farid Mini K2The original Spyderco Slysz Bowie and a Spyderco Szabofly at a "reasonable price" are the one that still evades me but I can live w/o them.![]()
Me too. And usually with me it’s more of a money issue lol..
But honestly I have enough knives for a few lifetimes, so these days when I want something bad enough I will sell something else to get it.
funny you mention the Quantum, as that was one of my grails at one point (a PJ Gen 1), but I “settled” for a Quantum Ursus. It’s still one of my favorites in my collection, it’s a perfect knife really.
Hey we all have our preferences I get it. The backspacers on the regular quantum models are gorgeous, as are those fullers on the bladeThe Ursus is a gorgeous knife, but for me it comes down to the lack of a backspacer. Funny as it sounds, I have a thing for backspacers, and usually if a knife doesn’t have one it doesn’t stay in the collection. Actually just sold an Imamba for that reason… I’ve never handled a Gen 1, but the Quantum model in general has my heart.
