That woods knife that you always wanted

My grail knife for almost 4 years has been a black/black Camp Tramp, because of this picture.

Found the Tramp a week before Christmas last year....right after I bought a Scrapyard SOD.:D

Not really my Grail outdoors knife, but what got me started on customs was a Randall 1-7, just wishing and hoping on it. I met Scott Gossman instead, and that buffalo knife started it all.

Great score...
My Grail knife ? I guess for me a Armageddon SKS in A2 by Trace Rinaldi (I want one but can't afford)

Hey thanks Tony! One of these days I would like to be able to offer those sets as a mid-tech to bring down the price, and bring up the availability.
Same materials, same Bos heat/cryo treatment, and same feel in hand.
I think the mid techs would be CPM3V and S30V though, and probably be rigged with my new firesteel/sharpener.
I'll keep you guys posted when I can make that happen.

I'd love to get my hands on a Beck Tracker...but I could never swing what they are worth/going for now, so I hope to land a TOPS version in the future.

Also the Randall/Greco RAT skinner. An AWESOME piece and only a handful were made from what Jeff told me. I asked to buy his but no dice:(

I'll preempt this post by saying that I only believe in buying the best quality I can afford, and I am in a constant search for just that. I'm not sure I've found it or if I ever will, but it is in my nature to seek that best.

With that in mind.... I bought and have carried this Randall model 15 for many years. It is close to perfection, but the 56 rockwell is a bit soft IMO. Still... I love this knife. (shown with Kimber)

Nowdays... the knife I carry and use more often is this modified (by me) Busse Meaner Street. It holds an edge better than any knife I've ever used... and I've used a lot of them. (shown with a pretty good buck & lil' Ranger who loves him some deer blood).

Ever since I saw Hollowdweller show off his Skookum Bush Tool, I knew I had to have one someday. I emailed Rod Garcia to check if he is accepting orders. We'll see...

I think after many dollars spent and knives fondled, used, bought, and sold, that I have found my Grail knife-it is the little blue Cub Scout pocketknife. It was the first knife I ever received and after many years, I just got another!
I drag it around everyday, and while it is not as good as a SAK, it does what I need in a pocketknife.
Whew! There ya have it!

I guess I'm rather boring and pedestrian but the Fallkniven F1 is absolutely the perfect woods knife for me. I want for nothing else now. But I don't whack down trees, baton wood (very often), build shelters, skin bears, whatever; I use it as a camp knife.
