That's not a bench, this is a bench

Nice !!
Much friendlier working over steel tops.
Inlay a pattern. Something what compliments colours of your new workshop !
My Sweeties house had countertops made of a stuff called "paperstone" what was basically thick paper micarta. We ended up giving a rubbed satin varnish to keep its brown colour.

That's such a nice looking top I'd have to lay a sheet of plywood on top to protect that pretty stuff. GREAT STEAL!

Great find JT.

A bunch of years ago my buddy who runs the salvage yard had a huge sheet of black canvas micarta that was scrapped by one of the shipyard shops in a clean out for retooling. It was 4X8X2" He said I could have it for $100, and would need a good truck to haul it. I had already bought 20-30 sq.ft. of the same stuff in smaller pieces, and had no use for the whole slab, so I passed on it. Wish I had got it and cut it in half for making a super workbench top.

Speaking of work benches. I'm pouring concrete soon. Anyone had a concrete work bench? I'll over estimate what I need for my floor and trying to think of ways to use the extra while I have the truck.

I could even cast in a track for mounting vises and moving them along the track...

I wouldn't. If you EVER want to move stuff around what then? I'd extend a slab outside or something. Like an isolated compressor room, hydraulic pump room. I wouldn't make a table.

Already have that. Milkhouse. And I would just move it. It wouldn't be tied to anything. Just heavy.

Concrete counter tops seem to be pretty popular nowadays. I've seen some because I was surprised that was even a thing, and they look great!

Check out you-tube for "concrete shooting bench"

Lots of folks doing bench rest tables - plenty of mistakes to avoid.

I'd cast a shooting bench except I'm renting my "range" out to horses :(

I think I'll just pour a pedestal for my anvil and another for my leg vise. If I do a concrete workbench, it will be steel framed and legged, and I'll just pour the top slab.

I made one out of bricks with a plywood top
I build it around metal draweres I was given
