The “Can’t leave anything alone” Thread

I hate to be the one to follow Chip’s fantastic post...but seeing as I started this thread. Haha.
I finally got the nerve to do what I’ve been wanting to do for a long while...Black Lip MOP in a “forever” knife of mine.
Super cool how it changes colors at certain angles and in certain light...
I’m very happy with the way this turned out.

There was intent in my mind when I bought this:

Daggerr from Russia with Chinese bones.
I figured a scale transplant was going to be easy.
Ordered some wood from Jarrett Fleming as he was able to cut the slabs down to 1/8" and run them through a drum sander.
I forgot what it was like working with burl and it quickly showed me who was boss:

I took two years of wood going after my degree and should have known better.
The spacer is blue so I went with blue liners:

Which I immediately regretted.
My other choices were yellow and red so blue it was.
I didn't bother to completely finish; I was more interested in the process.

At first I definitely disliked the blue but it's sort of grown on me.
I got some more dyed burl coming in (the good stuff!) so at least now I know what I'm doing.
Sort of.
I got three more wood scale projects to go!
