The “Glock” of folding knives?

Here are the qualities of the Glock that come to mind:
- Lacks aesthetic appeal to traditionalists
- Reliable
- Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive
- Revolutionary for its use of polymers
- Polarizing when it came out, perhaps even now
- Became widely adopted by users
- Became widely copied

Knife-wise, I'm not sure what fits, because I don't consider myself a mainstream user.

All of those pretty much sum up Spyderco endura/delica.

A sebenza is nothign remotely like glock. Expensive, tight tolerances, high end materials...
A sebenza is exactly like a glock in the parameters posed in the original post here:

"basic, no frills, nothing special to look at firearms that can take heavy abuse and keep on going. They just WORK."

Price wasn't mentioned in the original post at all. But even still, sebenzas aren't really all that expensive. Kinda middle of the road.....also like glocks.

Glock firearms are a standard for durable firearms that just work. They are basic, no frills, nothing special to look at firearms that can take heavy abuse and keep on going. They just WORK.

What’s the “Glock” of folding knives? What knife can take years, even decades, of abuse and just keep on working?
I have a couple Cold steel folders that this reminds me of

I target shoot a Glock 34 with a 5+ inch barrel. It is basic, and it does the job. My knife equivalent is my Gayle Bradley #1, designed for use not style by Gayle Bradley, who also makes custom knives, and who competed and won many knife cutting contests for several years. He was sponsored by Sal at Spyderco.

I view Glocks as fairly reasonably priced ultra dependable but very ugly firearms. CRK’s are most certainly dependable and built for a lifetime but are hard to get and expensive so I put those on a higher rung than a Glock. Possibly a Microtech Socom or any number of the better quality (not necessarily the lighter faster more flimsy) Benchmades would be an equal comparison. Lots of knives in that quality/price range.
Good comparison. I picked Emerson CQC-7 would you agree or argue its a cut above?

I own 6 Glocks (3 G17 variations, a G26, a G21 & a G30).

I also own the Spyderco "Glock Armorer's Tool" which was an "exclusive" previously sold by Lone Wolf Distributors. Unfortunately, it apparently is discontinued and is no longer available. :(

It's basically an Endura 4 with an Emerson wave notch and a Glock 3/32" pin tool attached to the butt end of the knife. Although I've never had a need/reason to field strip any of my Glocks, I always carry it whenever I carry one of my Glocks.

A Sebenza isnt expensive? Mate you have been on the forums too long and need to get outside with regular people. A glock literally costs the same as a sebenza...which is a knife... Also basic? Its made with titanium (often fancy inlays and such) an extremely modern high end steel made through powered metallurgy...A glock costs 78 bucks to make and is mostly plastic. Glock is so cheap and common its purchased by every police and miltary around the world. Name one that has ever bought an over 500 dollar sebenza...

Really forcing the comparison lmao. The only thing Ill give you is they both work...but that isnt saying much. One is proudly american, one is austrian...the differences are endless.

Another vote for the FRN Spyderco family. Glocks come in a bunch of different sizes, calibers, single stack/double stack etc. I'd look at it something like this:
G43 = Dragonfly
G26 = Delica
G19 = Endela
G17 = Endura
G17L = Police (LW)

Lol.....okay pal. You are entitled to your opinion. Same as me. You keep contrasting things the OP didn't ask about.

My comparison is very much on point to the OP's parameters.

Sebenza's are indeed basic, no frills, nothing special to look at knives that just work and can take years of abuse. Im sorry you don't like my opinion or that it answers well to the OP's ask.

I'm sorry two people disagreeing with each other is so hard for you to experience. Relax mate, its part of why we use this forum in the first place. That being said Im glad you showed me how an over 500 dollar knife is not expensive to you. Congrats on the success.
