The “Glock” of folding knives?

I'm sorry two people disagreeing with each other is so hard for you to experience. Relax mate, its part of why we use this forum in the first place. That being said Im glad you showed me how an over 500 dollar knife is not expensive to you. Congrats on the success.
I did say that I don't think they're all that expensive, that part is true. They're middle of the pack price wise for factory brands. They're pretty low end price wise once you get into customs. I don't have one anymore, probably won't again.

You for some reason want to keep bringing price into this discussion. I stated why it fit the bill for the OP. You directly quoted me, disagreeing. I'm just responding. I'm quite relaxed. You disagreeing with me doesn't bother me in the least.

But this back in forth is getting boring to me so I'm out. You enjoy your day now.

...and so ubiquitous they can be purchased at almost any place that sells knives.

Unless I missed it… I can believe someone hasn’t mentioned the PM2.

While I agree the FRN delica/endura family is the obvious answer and I prefer those over the pm2, I think a good “one and done” pairing would be something like a g19 and a pm2. Neither would be my first choice but that is no doubt a SOLID combo and I’ve seen both used and abused for long time.

I can see why crk may be suggested. They don't have any bling, they are simple ergonomically, they can be easily disassembled and reassembled over and over again. They just work and aren't winning any beauty contests. Their simplicity and subsequent reliability is the allure.

I have thought about this question many times. I have narrowed it down to three.

Spyderco Endura: plastic fantastic

Spyderco Paramilitary 2: Iconic like Glock

Chris Reeve Knives Inkosi: Simpler than the Sebenza (as Glocks are) and will last a lifetime

All three knives are in my top 10 knives of all time.

take heavy abuse and keep on going. They just WORK.

What’s the “Glock” of folding knives? What knife can take years, even decades, of abuse and just keep on working?
“Years, even decades of abuse and just keep on working?”

My selection would be the Cold steel AD-10, AD-15, or either one made by Demko, the original designer. They’re almost indestructible, almost.

I own 6 Glocks (3 G17 variations, a G26, a G21 & a G30).

I also own the Spyderco "Glock Armorer's Tool" which was an "exclusive" previously sold by Lone Wolf Distributors. Unfortunately, it apparently is discontinued and is no longer available. :(

It's basically an Endura 4 with an Emerson wave notch and a Glock 3/32" pin tool attached to the butt end of the knife. Although I've never had a need/reason to field strip any of my Glocks, I always carry it whenever I carry one of my Glocks.

I would totally buy one of those, lol. Maybe they'll make 'em again?

CS American Lawman

Inexpensive.
Tough.
Plastic frame.
No frills.
Strong.
Easy to take apart.
Named appropriately.
Gets the job done without much fuss.
Pocket clip is subjective, just like the Glock handgrip.

Due to state laws, I am unable to
carry a handgun, thus the lack of wear. Things are slowly changing for Hawaii tho, so there is hope yet.

I agree with everyone who puts Spyderco in this category. They're easy to suggest to someone who wants a knife to "do it all and reliably" and is "cheap". When talking about guns people mindsets in terms of cost expectations are different than knives, and can convince a new buyer that a glock is "cheap" given its reliability and is easily suggested because of it.

Spartan, Strider, Hinderer, Chris Reeve = Les Baer.

Koenig, Craig Brown, Skiff, Eustler, Koert.....on and on = Wilson Combat.

Spyderco PM2

Not crazy expensive (for what you’re getting)
Ergonomic, will last forever, and definitely nothing too pretty to look at lol
But they definitely WORK

Any cold steel could fit too, I just don’t like them as much as my PM2s
