I was just thinking about this as I contemplate a 16 or 22.
I just got my first, a BK14, about 10 days ago. Got around to stripping it and putting a clip on the sheath just yesterday. After a quick Patina, it's now what I deem to be useable.

And I'm looking at others already...
 
After some research, went with the BK2 about two years ago. Now have two of them; a BK9, and a BK11. Most likely more to come.
 
if i remember correctly i ordered a bk2 and bk17 at the same time and the bk17 arrived first
 
For me it was the BK-7. Camillus had just started producing them and there was an article in Blade. In the article they tested the BK-7 against custom knives that cost many times more. The BK-7 was the only knife to pass all their tests with no damage. I bought my first off Ebay for $36 delivered....good times
