The 124 is a real crowd-pleaser.

noticing a lot of varition to the same simple design. rivets vs no. two sided stiching vs one sided. pretty cool...
 
We can own fixed blades or locking folders and carry them if we have a good reason to. For instance camping, fishing etc. We can carry a non locking blade without an obvious reason as long as the blade is below 3 inches.
That is a very simplified summary.

How is knife violence trending in England?
 
There is more knife crime than there used to be even though there are more restrictions than previously. It gets quite a lot of attention in the media. As a consequence the government feels compelled to act. They are consulting on banning certain types of large knives / machetes with multiple holes in the blade, saw back etc. Most knife crime is committed with easily available and cheap kitchen knives.

The liberal / progressive politicians and the media blamed guns, now knives...but they don't want to face the facts...evil people / communities without morality / character.

I think the UK would be perfectly happy with disarming every person of any kind of knife or firearm for self defense. So would all the criminal types. The wealthy always have security but the average person doesn't. It's just about impossible to even own a gun of any kind there now but no matter how many CTV or security cameras watch EVERYBODY crimes are committed and I bet many low level assaults/robbery are just not reported. Especially in major cities.

Yeah, it's definitely drifting away from 124's. I come to this thread for the photos of 124's. Comparison photos, action photos, or the occasional story.

One of the great things about this forum is how people stay away from politics. I get enough of that elsewhere, and appreciate this little corner of the internet where people aren't always angry about something.

Still trying to decide whether to get a 124 with my BCCI discount though.
