The 1st cut is the deepest. Are you loyal to your 1st CRK model?

Everyone seems to have their favourite model CRK. I was wondering how many are loyal to the 1st model they purchased? I know I am most attached to my 1st CRK (a micarta 21). If I had to decide, I think I would choose a 21 over a 25, but I wonder how much a loyalty to my "old trusty 21" factors into that? In essence, if you got an Zaan first, do you become a Zaan man, if the 25 was your 1st, do you prefer it over the 21 forever?

My first was a 25, I ended up selling it. Shortly after I bought a 21. I didn't love the 25 at first but looking back its a great knife and I will buy it again soon, I also plan to buy a small 21 and keep all three of them forever :)

My first CRK was a Mountaineer I fixed blade. I still have it somewhere but the Scout is king if the OPKs. My first folder was a small Regular. I used it for a whIle but the small is too small and the Mnandi is the better small knife, IMO. I now generally carry an Umnumzzan and I don't see much changing that any time soon. :)

My 1st CRK is still one of my fav knives, large 21 micarta with double studs. I used to carry it alot, but now its worth nearly twice what I paid for it in Australia (import laws changed Dec 2012) knowing I probably would not be able to replace it, I carry it less. I have since got a mnandi (often carried), small Willson Tac 21 and Professional Soldier too, but its my 1st I like the best.

My first was a 25 and I do prefer it over the 21 however I prefer the Zann over both of them. I don't see myself ever getting rid of the 25 mainly because it was my first but it hasn't seen any pocket time since picking up the Zaan. :)

My first was a small Classic with Damascus, I ended up selling it to fund a Large regular with Damascus, which I later sold after purchasing about 7 more CRK's and the value of it had sky rocketed. I guess that shows that I'm not "loyal" to my first but I am loyal to my favorites. It took me a little while to find the knives that suit me best as EDC blades, these are my tanto umnum, Large & Small Insingo, 25, and Nyala and they won't be going anywhere as far as I can tell.

My first was a small micarta 21 that my wife gave me on our first anniversary so I am absolutely loyal to my first :D doesn't matter what happens this one will never be sold. On our second anniversary she got me a plain small Insingo so that one gets carried most often in my collection.

My first was a left hand Classic in S30V. Loved the knife but it wouldn't hold an edge for long. It eventually got traded :ambivalence:

Well...I just got my first CRK about 48 hours ago...it is a 21 that has been carried and used for a couple of years, still looks great though... (thank you Frontline29)...Incredible how well it fits & feels in hand...
But already I am thinking of trying out the 25...

Lots of great stories on here :)

Well my first was a small 21. I still have it and don't plan on selling it ever. It doesn't get much use, just sits in my drawer. My favorite is the 25! And I sold it and have bought another since so... I think the 25 is hard to beat IMO/ Funny how stuff works out :D

Also I would like to point out is that the small 21 was my introduction into high end knives. Which also took me a minute to actually carry them out on the job.

My first is a small Line Drive Sebenza purchased in 1999. It was my EDC for more than 10 years, and remains part of my current EDC rotation.

My first is my Zaan. It was also my first introduction to high end knives. That was about two years ago, I still carry it a lot and it will alway stay with me. I do carry my lg and small regular but reach more for the Zaan.

My first was a Large Insingo and my second a 25. I carry them equally. There is something about the Insingo blade shape that I like. Never plan to sell either.

I think I'll always be, I got a small plain Jane 21, I know I'll get more someday but the small 21 week always be in mutt pocket. It might reside with another but the small 21 has a permanent spot in my RFP... :)

My first and still my favorite is the Umnumzaan!! I purchased it on a whim because I thought it looked "Neat" now I have pretty much every variation of CRK folders from the "P" to the 25. But the Zaan is what started my obsession with CRK!! My goal is to have one of every variation of the Zaan BNIB.. not there yet but I'm working on it!!:D
All the best, Dave

My first was an Umnumzaan, still have it. I have a large Sebenza and an Mnandi and carry them both more often. I want to try a small Sebenza with inlays next, probably Insingo.

I will be adding more Sebenzas and Mnandis to my collection but probably no more Umnumzaanans. I really love the bushing system so the 25 doesn't really appeal to me. I'd have to see a Ti-lock in real life to believe it.

My wife bought me a Nyala recently and I have been loving it! It performed exceedingly well on a few camping trips, even batoning some small branches. Where it really surprised me was in the kitchen slicing parmesan and tomatoes. Another small surprise was that I haven't even needed to touch up the edge at all.

I really wish they hadn't stopped making one piece knives before I found out about them.

My first was a small classic micarta, I still own it but it rarely gets carried anymore. The Mnandi is my favorite CRK model.

I have to say I am guilty of this, absurd loyalty to the large regular models. This sort of came up in conversation yesterday, as the only reason I can give for loving BG-42 so much is that I am an old guy set in my ways.
