the .22 rimfire

Coote:
putting the plastic bottle on a firearm would be illegal in the US too.

and that open bolt semi you have is also illegal here. Any semi that fires from an open bolt is considered a machinegun.

anyway, I have a marlin 60. It's an awesome gun, there isn't as much aftermarket stuff out there, but it doesn't need it IMO.

As far as semi-autos go, I like the simple actions like the Gervarm rifles have. These fire from an 'open bolt' postion. There is no firing pin...just a big chisel edge across the front of the 'bolt'/striker face. They seem to be very reliable, and they appear to cope with a variety of different ammo types.

That sounds like a real interesting little rifle. Haven't seen many open bolt semi-auto's here. On a sporting .22....I like that idea!

Edited to add: SamX...are you sure about that? Here in Alaska you can still get the open bolt Semi auto Mac's legally, with no title II's or anything, just like any other handgun, as long as you feel like choking down the $1,200-$1,500 to get one! ack!

I have the Walther P22 - no major problems - great gun - lighter than the Ruger.
I think a couple of people had some problems and blew them out of proprotion.
Let's remember a lot of people don't post how great a product is - I mean what kind of discussion comes out of that.
Minor problems
Saftey was a bit loose - I tightened it.
Did feed properly - I cleaned the gun and after break in no problem.

Ruger 10/22 all the way....

I picked up a Marvel Conversion for my 1911...liked it so much I sold my S&W 41 (too picky about ammo).

I plan to pick up another 10/22 and a nice MKII to go with my Single Six, another great 22.

I also got a Berett Bearcat in trade...wasn't expecting much, but it shoots awsome for it's size...another keeper.

Just can't beat a good 22.

I like them too, did I mention that?

That 10 / 22 is more fun than about anything, besides a cold drink and a lady, huh?

:-)
