The 3:10 to Yuma........

that blue magua looks sweet!
(the Yuma always looks good!)
congrats Mist & Lisa.

Yuma delivered yesterday in the best-packaged box I've ever gotten a knife in from anybody anywhere.
Eggs woulda made it through intact in that box. :)

Thanks, Todd.
You've finally found my expedition blade for me.
Been looking for a hell of a long time now. :)

I'll try to call you sometime today.

Hey Denis. Jeff here. After all the emails, I'm curious to hear your initial impressions now that you've got it in your hand. Post 'em here or send me an email, will ya? I didn't give the Yuma a second glance 'til I started messing around with one laying around in his shop one day, now it's my daily carry. I gather you like it? :)

Yeah, I think nitro would make it safely in one of Todd's packages :)

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on it too. I am so glad that Andrew told me about it.

Hehe! I've recieved comments before on my packing practices. I guess now is a good time to explain.
When I drop off one of my knives at the P.O. Until it reaches the customers hands, is a very stressfull time for me. I put a lot of effort in my knives, and the people that buy them spend good hard earned money on them. Even though I make my knives to withstand the worse abuse you can give them. I know I have little control over what happens from here to there. I've worked in shipping/recieving docks and even had a brief employ in the postal service in college. I've seen what can and will happen not to mention theives and dishonesty. So it only seems fair to me to do a little extra to do what I can to ensure that knife is recieved in the same condition that it was in when it left my hands.
So quite whinnin ya Nancy's, its to protect your envestment. If you need help opening the box, there is a knife inside! :D

I remember working shipping and receiving. We DESTROYED boxes. Not on purpose, per se, just we would be throw them into the bag usually it was a rebound off the wall, sometimes they would slip out of the hands and go FLYING way past where we meant. It just happens.

Hi Jeff,
This are the one for me. :)
I have a...couple...other knives here & I've been looking for a long time to find something not too small to be useful & not too large to fit comfortably on my belt while I'm in the ATV's bucket.

Had been just heading out lately with the Spyderco Manix I carry everyday everywhere else in a belt pouch, since I couldn't find a fixed blade that put everything together just right, but I'm not totally sold on any folder for hard woodwork & the handle can be mildly abrasive during extended use.

I'd gotten down to aaaaaaaalmost toting the Spyderco Bushcrafter that has an excellent grip & a good blade size, but I'm also not entirely sold on the Scandi grind.
Then I saw the Yuma in Mistwalker's photos & that was my knife, right there.

Perfect fit in my hand, great steel, the bird's beak helps in retention, that extended tang can be useful in wood working as well as glass window breaking in a pinch, the knife is well made but not too pretty to leave the house.
Not abrasive in the hand, the two sets of jimping are a bonus, blade thickness is adequate, good point, enough belly for meat.

I'll stick with the Manix for around town (easier in & out from under a shirt or jacket), but the Yuma hits the trail from now on. :)

Thanks Todd, Jeff, and Brian.
If I hadn't seen it here, I wouldn't have known it existed. One of the reasons I keep up with the forum.

Well, nothing I can add to that except glad to hear you like it! Todds attention to detail fortunately extends well beyond his meticulous packaging! LOL
