the 5 or 6

probably to keep sku's and variations down for vendors and the maker alike.

although there may be a few around
cricket

well i'm still stuck on the fence, it's not that bad of a place to be ether. i'm leaning to the 5 side but not quite sold yet.

I kick around your relative neck of the woods. I vote for the 6. Just more useful. (i have both)

LOL i kick around in your neck of the woods too Dizwolf. once dated a girl who lived just outside of Buffalo.

it's funny though, with the price difference between the 5 and 6 i can pick up a Sharpmaker and still stay on budget

They are both great knives, you really can't go wrong with either. I would say the 6 is probably a better chopper and the 5 can pry open a bank safe.

Semper where you stationed at? I was at shoal cove.

I ordered the six cause I want a slicer and not a pry bar. I think I would be happy with either but a lot of good feed back on the 6 although I haven't seen anything bad about the 5

For me I don't have a need for the 5 for the simple fact the blade length is a little shorter than the 6 and my primary use for a knife of this size is used for batoning

The 6 is more than enough at a 3/16 in. in spine to handle the task

I've been bugging the knife connection to make some for the 5/6...

maybe if all of you guys send Email also they will do it

If you're not sure which you want, get the 6.

You need to "want" the 5 to appreciate it, IMHO.

The more I think about it this is the best advice. Some people will appreciate the extra thickness of the 5 and some people won't.......it is kind of like serrations.........you are either going to know you like it or know you don't like it.

If it doesn't immediately grab your attention and make you know it's the knife for you, it might not be and the 6 would be better. I think the 5 is a knife you have to 'want' and the 6 would be more useful in more situations.

One thing I Absolutely love about the 6 is how nice it feels when you choke up on the blade (just feels perfect)......

+ one on the 6. dont have a 5 but I think that the FFG of the 6 is probably more useful for splitting wood, general chores. the 5 strikes me as a sharpened prybar
