Hi Mr. David
I'm not sure how many kilos this elk was, maybe one hundred kilos of the live weight, we usually don't weigh them.
The temperatures were approximately:
- 7 Celsius = 19,4 Fahrenheit
-11Celsius = 12,2 Fahrenheit
Yes, we have shipped this elk on a truck platform and have taken away on the hunting base.

Hi wolfdog , thanks.Great photo essay Igor. It's always interesting to see how things are done on the other side of the world. (I'll say this now in case I don't get to it on the New Year day.с Новым годом
Probably you are right with the weight of this moose.Just looking at him my estimate would be 200 kilos . 1 kilo= 2.20lbs.. So, near 450lbs.. Edible net is near 47% live wt. on most wild game, except Craigs fatty elk . Then some fat is added in when grinding hamburger or sausage . That should feed your family until Spring near June . DM
Buck knives are my favorite knives during the last year .Thanks for the truck pictures  Glad that you had a Buck
to skin and cut it up with.
Can you tell us what rifle and bullet was used to take the moose with.
Thanks Hawkeye
Hi garryale -
Thank you for posting your pictures and story, I enjoyed viewing them.
Even though we are separated by many miles and also by language, we all have much in common, our love for knives and the outdoors.
