The Alaska Experiment

Those two that are the dads daughters, I hate those kind of girls......Id rather them not be on that show persoanly. I dont know if you call them girls or Sasquatch.

This is a really funny thread! I'm still cracking up laughing at the remarks regarding those two femallos.

I like the way we get to see folks out of their elements. Some react very poorly and others will shine. The Dad w daughters is either gonna man up and squelch the sh*t or be served like peanut butter and potatos. I think the Racer Wife and husband will do ok since she isn't too hard on him and he does seem to be pushing himself without too much complaint. The kayaers will be fine I think although I bet their stress levels will experiance some testing whith the canvas tent, weather, and proximity of the bears. The young trio I think will do ok too. They have a willingness to em but lack experiance. If they learn from their mistakes, they will make it. I think I have been camping with all these folks at 1 time or another.......might be whay I rarely camp with folks anymore :)

so when does the father get to shove the daughters on the other side of the curtain they put up in the cabin and freeze them out? or do you think that the other groups will all converge on their cabin for roasted manatee a la papa.

I like the whole idea of the show. The participants are there for the learning experience. I think the dad has a good idea what his daughters are like and is probably expecting them to learn a lot about themselves and how hard life can be without all the niceties of the city. I have always been hiking, camping and hunting so I feel like it's all second nature but watching the people on the show reminds me of my first few forays into the wild. It was challenging and scary and exciting all rolled into one. and if I do it right, it still is.

Any updates on this show from last night?

I crashed after being up since 4 am ET and didn't record it.

If I had been the father of those two, I would have put them up for adoption long long ago.

Now if he could only get away with feeding them to the bears!

One thing about last weeks episode that bothered me is why didn't the tent couple just use the net and slide it up under the salmon they were trying to catch instead of "sneaking" up on them. I will give the woman this though, she dragged that salmon out of it's hidey hole like it was nothing.

Thanks for the update.

Then I take it the Father Survived to see another round?:D

I also found out that I get a second chance to see this show at 9 pm ET Thursday.

It also reairs at 1am central time Wed. Morning.

These folks have to fish and hunt according to Alaska's laws and regulations. I'm guessing they would take a dim view of somebody taking salmon with a dip net. (And video evidence would be pretty hard to refute!)

Well that answers that question. You would think something called the Alaska Experiment would actually allow them to do this as a survival situation, cause that is what they seem to make it out to be.
