It's back!
I was reminded of the old long-running topic, and it's no longer in the first few pages of topics.
A few days ago I read a topic with some photos about fuzz sticks in the Wilderness & Survival forums. Lots of photos of fuzz sticks and what knives to use, etc. The thing that stuck out was that you need a really sharp knife to "fuzz" a matchstick.
So the other night I snagged some wooden strike anywhere matches from the kitchen and used my trusty Buck 110 (with BG-42 naturall) to make tiny little fuzz sticks from them. It's a curiously relaxing activity once you get over the fear of cutting too far so that the curl of wood is separated from the stick.
I believe I am ready to graduate to bigger sticks.
Other than that, it's been mostly the usual ... mail, packages, etc. I did cut a piece of anti-skid ("skateboard") tape (and probably scraped the edge on the steel frame of a Colt Commander) a couple of weeks ago that rolled the edge pretty badly. It took some time to get that fixed, but it's back in business now.
