These are beautiful knives! Breathtaking knives!
Does the Buck Custom Shop still make these custom knives (NIB aka new in box.) exactly like these Woodsman #102 knives?
Do they make NIB ones in various shades of pearl including the white ones?
Do they make NIB ones like the other Native American knives with the BEAR on them?
Thank you.
Cate - A Buck Lady
Cate, Unfortunately they do not make any custom knives like they used to at the custom shop. Even today where you can pick your own handle material on 110's and a few other models, pearl is not an option.
Fortunately there are extremely talented custom knife makers here on BF that do excellent custom work and they would be able to put out something similar to what used to be produced at the Buck Custom Shop.
The old Custom Shop ran from 1982-1993 and you could custom order/design just about anything you were wiling to pay for. So it was true " Custom" work back then. That is why my preference is original Custom Shop knives. There have been a few limited runs since that are pretty nice like my 532 on the first page of this thread, but Even that knife doesn't seem to have the same feel and craftsmanship of the older ones. I have been lucky enough to get some truly amazing pearl Custom Shop knives and I have 3 on the way that might knock my socks off.
Yellowhorse and other Native American Artesiens still offer Custom knives NIB with various inlays, including the more popular, bear, eagle, wolf,etc.....
I highly doubt Gedlicks wears his pearl kalinga out too much, but if I'm wrong I would like to see a picture
Legal carry on Cleveland is just under 3 inches, so I dont get to strap my pearl kalinga on to often, maybe next year it might come out west for a week of EDC.
Thanks for taking the time to enjoy this thread and comment, please check back soon as I will have one soon that competes with Haebbies 124 in pearl!!!!
Gold lip pearl American Bison 110 with no serial number unlike the other 75. The blade belonged to Aurum's Sam Shortes at one time.

Wow, there are sure some amazingly beautiful knives in this thread! Here is my only one with pearl. It is an older 507 Ultima, with the older script logo. I got it for cheap because it had been pocket carried and was scratched up really badly from coins and pocket junk, but the blade appeared to have not been sharpened very many times. I sent it back to the factory for a buff & sharpen job, and it turned out better than I ever expected. Love it.
