I had a few minutes last night so I took a few shots of my Custom Shop Pearl 102 next to a yellowhorse "Sacred Mountain" 102:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the complements on the 102 from Haebbie and ITE:D:D:D I think we all have a few everyone would want in their collection;)

These are beautiful knives! Breathtaking knives!

Does the Buck Custom Shop still make these custom knives (NIB aka new in box.) exactly like these Woodsman #102 knives?

Do they make NIB ones in various shades of pearl including the white ones?

Do they make NIB ones like the other Native American knives with the BEAR on them?

Thank you.

Cate, Unfortunately they do not make any custom knives like they used to at the custom shop. Even today where you can pick your own handle material on 110's and a few other models, pearl is not an option.

Fortunately there are extremely talented custom knife makers here on BF that do excellent custom work and they would be able to put out something similar to what used to be produced at the Buck Custom Shop.

The old Custom Shop ran from 1982-1993 and you could custom order/design just about anything you were wiling to pay for. So it was true " Custom" work back then. That is why my preference is original Custom Shop knives. There have been a few limited runs since that are pretty nice like my 532 on the first page of this thread, but Even that knife doesn't seem to have the same feel and craftsmanship of the older ones. I have been lucky enough to get some truly amazing pearl Custom Shop knives and I have 3 on the way that might knock my socks off.

Yellowhorse and other Native American Artesiens still offer Custom knives NIB with various inlays, including the more popular, bear, eagle, wolf,etc.....

I highly doubt Gedlicks wears his pearl kalinga out too much, but if I'm wrong I would like to see a picture

Legal carry on Cleveland is just under 3 inches, so I dont get to strap my pearl kalinga on to often, maybe next year it might come out west for a week of EDC.

Thanks for taking the time to enjoy this thread and comment, please check back soon as I will have one soon that competes with Haebbies 124 in pearl!!!!

Hello,

Thank you very much for this reply! I am sorry that I missed this post and THANKING YOU earlier. Please accept my apologies. Thank you.

I really love the pearl handles.

I love the Native American knives a lot too.

I am going to show my husband these beautiful pictures again if I can wipe away the DROOL from my screen first!

I am shopping for his birthday present early, a few Christmas gifts, our food donations, and telling him what I may want ahead of time too. :)

I just did a review of his HUNTING SEASON GEAR, stuff in his den aka his reloading room, ALL of his general stock (I keep lists of HIS inventory. Uh huh.), some items stored neatly in the super insulated garage, and he does NOT need anything gun related or clothing. Zero - he said that he does not need or want anything there. I do not need anything in that area. I had him double check what I counted and reviewed on Sunday evening too.

I even asked him about his fishing gear - he said that he does not need or want anything there too.

So what does that leave now? Could it be a new knife?! A knife book?

He is selling and gifting two or three more knives. He will be finished at that time according to him.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Cate

Here is a nice Finger grooved 112 from the old Custom shop

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!

Wow and holy moly - beautiful knives! Thank you for sharing.

I hope that you had a lovely holiday. Happy Labor Day late to all of the BUCK people here too.

I am retired but my husband has not retired yet. He usually works MOST holidays at a 24/7 job unless they fall on his regular days OFF or if he is on vacation. He was off work, he is on vacation now and he made a yummy steak dinner for us.

Gold lip pearl American Bison 110 with no serial number unlike the other 75. The blade belonged to Aurum's Sam Shortes at one time.

Merry Christmas everyone~No new pearl Bucks under the tree, a few other Bucks though:D:thumbup::thumbup:

I have a lot of pearl Buck knives I haven't had time to post in this thread. I will do my best to add some in the next few months:thumbup:

Anyone get a New pearl Buck for Christmas they want to show off;);)

Here's a 535 with Pearl handles. I was told it is a LR custom.

Wow, there are sure some amazingly beautiful knives in this thread! Here is my only one with pearl. It is an older 507 Ultima, with the older script logo. I got it for cheap because it had been pocket carried and was scratched up really badly from coins and pocket junk, but the blade appeared to have not been sharpened very many times. I sent it back to the factory for a buff & sharpen job, and it turned out better than I ever expected. Love it.
