The Amazing Umfaan...

well I like my umfaan... I carry the spear thru the grass one every now and again and it does help defend one of several desks I use from evil envelope attacks etc  .I do carry it occasionally out and about. The other in the picture is,as far as I know the only Calvary Umfaan to exist.... they cancelled production shortly after I recieved it. not the best pic- sorry...

Can I get an AMEN?

Amen! I am getting ready to purchase another Umfaan provided I can find one at a decent price. I really regret selling mine several years ago. :(

Forest...you can probably find one for around $350 still. You just have to keep your eye out and be ready to jump.

lk99bt, thanks for the offer, but I like this knife way too much! It is a left handed 2002 model. And I love BG42 steel.

I'm in the same boat...I sold my Umfann a few years ago and have missed it ever since. I have been scanning ebay and the forums for one to come up at a good price.

All of you who are so enamored with this overpriced knife should look into the new William Henry B9 Titan button lock. It takes on the same platform as the original T09 Kestrel, except for the fact that it utilizes an all titanium frame with a button lock mechanism as opposed to the carbon fiber handles with titanium linerlock mechanism. Also the blade is made of ZDP-189!!!! I have one on hold at Plaza Cutlery for $ 279. This seems to be one sturdy and classy little knife. Even more so than the hard-to-get and overpriced Umfaan. Pretty soon, other websites will be rolling out with this particular model. Just my opinion though.

Maybe we can goto your boss and your house and declare that you are overpaid and way too common to deserve your pay and even encourage them to hire the guy that though not AS good as you... after all he would be the same only different

Amen, Tallpaul... :barf:

It's nothing short of idiotic coming on here and hijacking a thread to compare apples to oranges.

Hey TallPaul, that was really cute and clever. I'm sure that little tirade of yours required a great deal of thought. Don't get too defensive about your affinity for the little umfaan. I was only making a viable suggestion for an alternative to a difficult to obtain piece. That's all

Uhh actually it did not take much thought at all - it was VERY OBVIOUS to me and I am sure ALOT of others but apparently it will take alot for you to comprehend :p

Why would I get defensive of someone coming to not only a good mans house- but a friends house and basically knocking him and his product. Courtesy, manners and civility would dictate that you don't come here and talk about other knives in the way you did... maybe if you could put a great deal of thought into it you could see why someone would get a bit defensive. You could very well have just posted in general that that WH is out and in your opinion makes a nice comp to an umfaan even better in your "opinion", but this is NOT the place for it. Even if was true and you had an ugly wife it would not be cool for me to come to your house and call her an overpriced ,ugly and hard to get compared to another mans wife EVEN if I put the disclaimer of- "but of course its only my opinion"

BTW Triade according to websters
A long angry or violent speech, usually of a censorious or denunciatory nature; a diatribe.

actually my original post was not long or particulary violent nor near as denunciatory as your comments.... now your not only being rude but also a drama queen... "why is everyone always pickin on me" :p
