I saw this knife on a dealer's website and had to share. Buck is a unique company. Name one other large "production" knife company that is also capable of doing this quality of work.

Feel free to use this thread to show off other Buck custom knives that have been offered over the years.

  • 3 3/4" blade of stainless steel, mirror polish, 7 5/8" overall length
  • Fancy filed blade spine and tapered tang
  • Brass hilt with engraving by unknown artist
  • Mother of pearl scales with fine brass and black spacers
  • Tooled leather belt sheath, no box or papers
  • Serial #0154, mint condition

This is most certainly my all-time favorite Buck. It's not as fancy as some others.
Its not embellished with etchings, fancy materials, inlays, etc.. It's beauty is in it's simplicity. Beautiful lines and beautiful wood!
The first time I seen one, I had to have one. Fortunately, my local B&M had one stashed away from an old collection and after bugging him for 2 years, he finally parted with it. It's the one knife in my pile that I'll have the hardest time parting with.
I told the wife I was going to use it hunting and she promptly reminded me about my condition (crazy). She almost convinced me of buying another as a back-up if I want to use this one...

That is a cool knife, Pokt, and a special letter to go with it. Looks like it would be super comfortable in hand. Love it!

That palm skinner looks like I want to skin with it by laying my pointer finger across the spine.

Well, to be accurate you should say "WAS" capable......since they don't do it anymore.

Beautiful knife, though.

I would say they still do the work. Vorpal, didn't you just purchase a custom one or two? Or are you saying they don't do quality work anymore? You can pick up customs off their website. Not many manufacturers offer what Buck offers.

I was getting ready to say you guys are really getting good at knife photography. I have been trying to mention if a photo is mine or borrowed. I will try to put NMP (Not My Photo) under a bottom corner in the future.

Everyone has improved in knife photography anyway, lots better with lighting, and avoiding reflections than back in the late 90's. Have camera's improved or you guys gotten better. Good job, no matter. 300

Dayum! Those are some gorgeous knives! Good for you buck! Those Navy Seal dover knives with the spikes on the guard and the copper accents? Yes! (Forget the name of that knife)

Makael what are those folders in the second last picture on your previous post? They look very cool.

That are the Buck 40 Onset. Titanium Frame lock with Damasteel blade. Very nice knives.

Oh, I'm sure they're still capable. They're just being humble and not offering full custom currently. :)

Whatever the reason, the FACT is that there is no real Custom Shoppe anymore......that's history.
What they now offer is not a true custom shop at all and no work like that which has been pictured here in that first post is offered on request anymore.
It's history. They made some beautiful knives--but that's all in the past.

Most of those knives are made recently. I see the racks of custom knives. These are done by hand by one person. They are not ran thru production. Just like your 121. Made by hand by one person. They are building customs right now for next year's BCCI get together.

They build them, they just don't do the custom ordering like they used to. That is the only difference.
