I guess you could say I'm self-insured. I've shipped over $1,000,000 of knives with less than $1,000 in losses. How much would I have paid for insurance for that? I have found that extra packing tape, quality shipping labels, good boxes and packing foam are cheap insurance.

Insurance doesn't work for everyone. In your case, it makes complete sense to self-insure. But for someone with knives, for instance, in the four-figure and higher range, the savings engendered in not needing to pay for shipment insurance (NOT USPS, lol - ie, the running joke) pays for the insurance premium for the entire collection.

Nathan/Jo, I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but I wanted to know that if it were possible for me to order a chopper (gotta sort out the numbers), would it be possible to get the scales upgraded to that ghost blue G10? I purchased an FK2 with those scales at BLADE this year, and they're absolutely fantastic. I'd love to have my giant megadestruction chopper match my FK2 if possible!

Nathan has never offered any handle scales in G10 for any of his choppers. I doubt very much if that "policy" will change with something like the BC'er which is the heftiest CPK chopper to this date.

Sorry, no we don’t use G10 in the Choppers.

G10 works fine on smaller knives but does not have the best characteristics for use on a chopper.
