No. I don't know about the interchangeability of Light Chopper and Heavy Chopper scales, but they are different from the Medium Chopper/Heavy Duty Medium Chopper/Behemoth Chopper scales (which are the same/interchangeable). #notJo

Also, I have titanium screws.

The strength advantage is moot.

The weight advantage is moot.

There may or may not be an aesthetic advantage. If someone wants raw titanium screws (looks like plain stainless) instead of black oxide stainless steel on their knife we can talk about it. If you want them turned for teh prety we can talk about that.

In my opinion the advantage to the titanium screws is they're made with a little bit larger head which is helpful with certain scales materials such as ebonite and wood.


I plan to use titanium screws on the DEK1 because Lorien asked me to.

Do people what me to start using titanium screws as standard on everything? I'm open to discussion. It would add several dollars cost to the knife without offering any real benefit. I haven't done this because we're about performance and value, and unnecessary exotic fasteners would go contrary to that value unless there were a purpose for it.

They're interchangeable. The handles were developed for the MC. The HDMC is a variant and won't be a standard pattern. I considered making a special variation of the handle scales (the original HC prototypes had more handle swell) but it seemed like a great deal of unproductive complexity, the MC scales work fine on the HDMC.

So does that mean I won't be able to get ghost blue handle slabs for my SHIV preorder ?!?!?...
So is there any status updates for the SHIV 2.0 preorder run I have not heard of anything about it in some time now ! So I figured I'd ask if you had any updates on the status of the Shiv 2.0 pre-order?... thanks for all your time and help !...

If you’re still looking for a DJ and catering I’m going to recommend flying either @Finedirk or @dericdesmond out to cover the DJ opening.
And either @NWFRS, @Ellis Wyatt, @3fifty7 or @yoko out to cover catering. There are more options on the catering so you can shop the type of food you want. If you go with @yoko keep him away from the punch bowl and you’ll be fine.

Right on thanks Jo I appreciate it very much !... Could I let you know in a few weeks after I get through this sweet 16 party if I want to get them or not ?
