The "Ask Jo (NinJO) Thread"

The screws are 8-32. Most are 3/8". On the field knife, the ones on the Carothers side are 1/4" for the first and last standoff. The middle one gets 3/8" on both sides. The HDFK has 3/8" everywhere.

For the Field Knife, starting at the front the (1/4") standoffs are 3/8", 1/2", and 5/16".

The standoffs for the HDFK are 1/2", 3/4", and 1/2".

Please let me know if that doesn't make sense! :D

Thanks for the help Jo and Casinostocks! I have some titanium screws on the way. I'll post some pics when I get them anodized.

TommyGun56 TommyGun56 We have ordered some new micarta scales from this new company to see how they work out. Apparently they make them as they are ordered and so we have not got them in and been able to evaluate them. Once they get here, we will make a decision as to which colors/types/styles we may want to order. Thanks!
Thank you Jo:thumbsup:

I am trying out a new Micarta manufacturer. When it comes in I'll try Machining it and see how dimensionally stable it is and whether or not it is hard and uniform. If it's good stuff we may add it to our lineup.

This is not because we have had problems with "Accurate", but the Norplex stuff, which makes some of the special colors, has not been consistently to my standards.

More so than the composite rubber/micarta, super-sticker handles on your wrecking machine?

The rubber handles provided excellent grip with bare hands. With cut-resistant rubber dipped gloves on and the forward lanyard, I really don't think I needed the rubber-inlaid handles. The forward lanyard is the ticket! NO freakin' way the LC, MC, HC or BC is gonna slip out of your hands with the forward lanyard attached! When I get my BC back from the sheath maker, I'm gonna slap my antique micarta scales on it and probably sell the rubber-inlaid ones!

I’ll take the rubber inlaid grips if possible. Thanks

Edit- I wouldn’t sell them if it were me. Ive handled them on a competition knife. They are awesome!!
