The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

I am an international customer but I reside in the U.S. (somehow I learned 100 civic based questions and never got arrested, arraigned or jailed before I took the oath... Downhill all the way thereafter!). Do I pay 50% upfront or 100%? Your massive disclaimer is somewhat ambiguous! I personally think that I ought to be charged at least 200% upfront! #stillnotnathan

Send half to me. I'm a US citizen, but was born in another country.

I have one of the Bark River "Edwin Forrest" Bowies - the design of which is thought to have been what Jim used in his famous fight.

Unfortunately, it's a crude affair, with a "Friday Special" approach to the grinding... That said, I'm sure it makes for a fine meat carver.

What does K20 stand for? I would assume katana 20”, but that wouldn’t explain the K18.

Keffeler, 20 inch. Dan designed the K18 and collaborated on the K20. I'm not a sword expert so I work with someone who is. He is a world renowned sword expert with many many national and world cutting championships under his belt. I'm a machinist with many many beers under my belt. So, as a rule, I expect most of my sword type offerings are probably going to have a K prefix on them.

^this. Right here. People, look at that. That is a Bowie knife. The stuff that people call a bowie knife isn't. I think it was designed by a TV executive. It's all make believe fantasy knife bullshit and it is, objectively, not a very good knife. The real thing was at least useful for something. Not great, but not terrible.

I have never done a CPK preorder before, when you said post in the thread, would I have to say “In for 2?” Or specify what handle? Or just say In?

I recommend you post "in" to get your place in line, because these will be shipped in order, and then edit your post to indicate specifically what you're ordering.
