......Not sure exactly why, but you really cracked me up on this one buddy
I’ll give you a multiple choice out, just in case:
1. Autocorrect at its finest
2. You were just really excited to post and didn’t proofread before hitting post reply
3. That sudden massive blood shift left you a bit fuzzy eyed and shaking
4. You really do want Nathan to warn you that he’s about to earn you (please don’t choose #4)

I think I saw in the preorder post that some will be made available on Friday sales - is that still the plan? I didn't discover the wonderful world of CPK until this year so missed the preorder bad. Please say yes.![]()
Looking great! Do they cut though?
It just depends on how many survive heat treat. It's not impossible we may be issuing refunds. *shrug*
I saw the pictures and got really excited. Then came crashing down back to earth with the thought that not everyone may make the list.It just depends on how many survive heat treat. It's not impossible we may be issuing refunds. *shrug*
My money is on you Nathan! It just depends on how many survive heat treat. It's not impossible we may be issuing refunds. *shrug*

#notNathan but I believe Nathan mentioned his concern was for cracking during heat treat because the heat treat plan was going to introduce unpredictable levels of sori in the blade that might vary somewhat on a blade-to-blade basis, which also makes scabbard building potentially something that has to be done on an individual basis. The K18 lacks the curvature of the K20, so I think the issues for the K18 were mainly just the complicated grinds and the scaling up of all operations to something sword-sized.Nathan the Machinist
What was the rate like for the K18s?
Would the success rate for the K20 be similar?
The Limited Edition CPK Kris. Most of the K18 received their final tempers, one at a time, shimmed and fixtured. And we lost several K18s.
The K18 had a relatively wide symmetric cross section. The K20 is longer, narrower, half the thickness at the edge, and has an unsymmetrical cross section. I'm concerned about "bacon edge" and uncorrectable distortion. We've learned a lot about stress relief and fixturing during heat treat, so I'm optimistic we will be successful, but this is a long thin blade and I do expect some amount will be lost.
The 'Baconator'?He said "bacon". What else can you want?
If that doesn't give you an edge, you're doing it wrong. The 'Baconator'?
No, no, no... The Bacon-Nate'rThe 'Baconator'?
