I absolutely love the old tool steels that darken and patina with age. I have tools that were in the family since the 40's. And some that were given to me by a neighbor in the late seventies, that he had purchased in the early 1900s when he worked in the Machine Shop in philadelphia.

The are dark and pretty. Hold a great edge. I would absolutely love a run of A2 knives by Nathan

I absolutely love my grandpa’s old knives. Don’t know the name or the steel, (fixed blades), but super to sharpen and so far indestructible!

Thanks I believe its called Creo now. Never used the manufacturing side of the software only use to convert files.

Nathan, in your unveiling post regarding the newly reformulated D3V steel (as you had intimated, not just the heat treat but also the "recipe" to the alloy) can you please elaborate a bit more as to what those 3 samples are in the posted photograph? Also, if possible, can you please consider moving that post to the sticky thread: Announcements, things you might want to know. Thank you.
