Listen to this man! I got a DEK1 and a DEK2 in the preorder because I wanted swedges, but I held off on the DEK3 because I only wanted the vanilla version. Fast forward to today…I have no DEK3 and probably never will.

But did I mention my 1&2?!!! They’re pretty awesome!!!

Generally speaking, the pre-orders are a bad idea for most people when you can just get it on a Friday sale and not have to wait.

However, the DEK3 had an enormous reject rate and, unfortunately, there were pretty much no extras available.

Do you ever see CPK offering titanium (maybe bronze) scales? I imagine it would be pretty intensive given all the contouring and milling etc, but it would also be pretty cool. Especially on something like the EDC or even the K20 ... CPK = Cyber Punk Knives???

Metal does not have any good characteristics making it a remotely suitable material for the scales. You will never see me do that.

What is the current thought on sheath design for the kukri? I know it is really spelled khukuri but that is like when people say Whatamala instead of Guatamala as if they are native speakers.

I had a genuine Nepalese Gurkha kukri when I was a kid, and it had a heavy wooden sheath covered in buffalo hide, like a giant puukko sheath.

Pretty hard to design a good Kukri sheath from kydex…….

If I not mistaken there are various traditional kukri designs some of them leaning towards to be used as a tool or weapon or somewhere in between. What will be the intendent purpose of the CPK kukri? Is the design leaning towards to be a tool, weapon or something in between?

I've seen you say that the SDFK will be produced again in 2026. Can you mention briefly why you plan to re-visit the SDFK, produced 3 year ago, before re-introducing the HDFK which I think hasn't been sold since 2018, maybe 2019? What changes to the SDFK might you consider, if any? A Signature version with your iconic blood groove comes to mind, a lanyard hole for the signature version? Apologies if the above dates are inaccurate.

I could be wrong, but I thought Nathan mentioned retiring the HDFK pattern (as in; no plans to make them again), as the SSDFK supplanted the HDFK.

I don't see myself revisiting the HDFK anytime soon. I like the SDFK and we're going to make it next year. The HDFK is a fantastic pattern and it is not retired, but I have no plans to produce it again anytime in the foreseeable future.

It's a great pattern, I'm sure we'll revisit it someday.

When we will see the HDFK revisited... I don't think boss man knows either. He's really got nothing to gain and more to lose by floating a time line he may/may not be able to keep. .

Exactly! Weight reduction can be achieved either way, so a SSDFK fuller variant could be a possibility.
