Nathan, are all the Field knife scales the same?

Recently? Yes. Over the years, no.

Nathan, are all the Field knife scales the same?

#NotNathan, this is how it changed over the years: There are FK2 scales with lanyard "gaps" in the rear and BFK/FK3 scales shaped a little bit differently, without the gaps.

Size/screw-wise they are interchangable; for example, I prefer to use FK2 scales on BFK/FK3.

#notnathan, but pretty sure the scales are different across each of those.

The FK3 and BFK scales are the same.

FK2 scales and FK3/BFK scales are interchangeable and can be used on any FK2, FK3 and BFK.

FK3/BFK scales don’t have a cutout for the hidden lanyard hole found on FK2 knives (the FK3 and BFK do not have lanyard holes).

Also, FK2 scales are more contoured than FK3/BFK scales.

And if you have a little OCD, and want to use FK2 scales on a BFK/FK3, you have to patch the lanyard holes, of course

And - I forgot - the FK[1] scales are unique and incompatible.
