THE BEAST = Dogfather

Call the humane society. I have been abusing my dog. I got a new SYDF recently and have been playing with it and comparing it with my other choppers in my backyard full of palmettos and liveoaks.

Here are a couple of the Dog Fathers playmates:

To make this brief, the Dog Father out chopped the other two on oak.

The RTAK was close behind, but would occasionally get stuck in the wood. It does work better as a machete, though.

The DF's convex edge seems to help, as does the blade-heavy feel.

For showing off so much in the chop off, I had to beat the Dog Father on the spine with an oak stick, driving his edge into gnarly liveoak.

Big Fun.

Can't wait to abuse my new FBM.

A Schlitz? Wow  :D - where did you find that?

Go for the Gusto! Go - DF!!

The DF is awesome. I can't get over the forward balance. OK. I'm over it but I still really like the feel.

Is the dog father destined to give the famed busse flagship a run for the money? I am thinking that the new scrapyard products will allow many of us mere mortals to enjoy top-flight quality at a reasonable price point.

Well I do not know if the DF will give too much competition to say a BM-e or anything like that..... But I do have 2 DF and only one BMe ... so far....

Its an apple to an orange thing - and I happen to like both :D

I do think that it does open the door for those seeking a more affordable price tag but still with high quality. I have found that I like a little of something from each Busse co. I used to have a BM-E and while I do prefer it's drop point and micarta slabs I prefer the extra forward weight of the DF. Just a preference.

It is getting harder and harder to find. As you probably know, Jos Schlitz was bought by Stroh. In 1995, Stroh brewed a D-Day anniversary Schlitz, using the original 1945 recipe. It was robust and good for a standard American lager. Good beer, really. Nice Wilamette hop finish and all. But Stroh got bought out by Pabst-Miller. It still tastes the same, but is getting hard to find. This is the first I have been able to get in several months. When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer!

Nice to see you here Horn Dog!
Well hello Melone and Happy Birthday again. Saw your pics over on the Srapyard forum. You have some real live Busses! I got one coming, so while I was wandering through the Busse forum, I saw this thing on the DF. So I abbreviated my chop off pics and posted here. So far, seems friendly enough over here. When my Mistress comes, she won't be a safe queen. She is going to be beaten hard!
