From the Let's talk GEC! thread:
So at least one vote for a version without a bail. I would bet my knife allowance that GEC will, at some point, release the same pattern without the bail. But you could always remove the bail, as I did on my Wenger SAK. And I look forward to seeing some cool lanyards attached...
Looking at photos of the bail I'd be gratuitous to know how you go about removing such. Definitely going to stick a lanyard on mine
Tim
Don't have any idea how many are on order but I would imagine Mike is paying close attention to the reserved knives and will decide based on that.
lol. I think you're right. Knifeswapper described it as a large Tidioute shield. "Beer Scout" is just a little longer than "Tidioute."
These are a general Production Run, not an SFO.
Put a needle nose pliers in the bail and open it up to remove it. Of course, then you have a hole in your knife!![]()
It didn't say "w/tube" thus I'm assuming a built on bail which would require a little more mechanican (red neck spelling). But I will confirm.
I saw this yesterday in the early reserve and I made sure to reserve a few within seconds of getting the notification. I really want the tortoise shell!
With this being a production run and not an SFO, everyone should be able to get one....now you all can stop requesting the cap lifter for the Blade Forums knife!!!!!!!
Maybe but I'm sure a small handful of people will buy them all up and resell them for 2-3 the $$ on the exchange and the auction site. At least that's been the case with all of the recent GEC releases.
