The beginnings of a BK 5 tanto...DONE!

LOL, I had that bk5 sitting in the box for a while, and though I liked it, I wanted some things done to change it...Thankfully another member of this forum suggested Albert to me, we exchanged emails, and I sent her out! I am thrilled thusfar on what has been done, and can't wait to see the final result as well...

I can say from personal experience too, Albert's sharpening is scary sharp. On a similar note, Nicks 5 was scary scary, sharp But.. from what I hear Albert wasn't thrilled with how the edge had come out so he told Nick to bring it to the gather and he would clean up the edge for him later for free......... Stand up guy if you ask me, that's pretty outstanding.

Say, are those hairs that have been "popped" by that wicked edge? So is the "modifications" done?

Unlike the previous knife (nick's I think), you have matched the top-of-the-grind line to the primary tip.
Again I noticed it only after I saw this knife.
Beautiful. This the best Mod idea I have seen.
Apologies to thrilbilly. Your clip point BK14 has unfortunately been relegated to second.

damm sexy.

Now i want 2 bk-5s and it's all your fault

This had me laughing OUT LOUD! Not only is it funny but a huge compliment. I'm thrilled that you guys like my work. It's an honor. Havoc1969 - do you want me to post pics of the finished product or send it to you first? I will have it done next week. Oh yeah - 100th post, wahoo!

Albert, you are the artist with this, I am just the lucky recipient, so by all means please post it for all to see!! Thanks!!

Next week! That's a long ways off! Alright, I know I know. Patience is a virtue or is it good things come to those who wait? Nice going havoc1969, I don't know how you can be so patient.

It is hard to be patient, but as you see the quality is excellent and worth the wait in the end...I will be sending the blade out once it returns for a custom sheath as well,,, so it's gonna be a bit before she stays home permanently,,

That is some mighty fine work Albert, instead of slicing phone book paper to test the edge, you can just stab though the whole book!

I think a true chisel point would be cool, like the rendering I did for Nick. Maybe there's not enough steel on a 5 to begin with, to accomplish it.

I have my 5 in my hands now Dubya, I dont think there is enough steel there...that Fisk blade is very thin and slicy...I aint a 'maker, but I dont think it will work.

I didn't really think there was.
