Looks like ol' Rocky had to set up a new account to sling his gold test kits and fake spydercos

Sad, I wonder if Ebay is just getting too big to handle this, or they are looking the other way now that most of the sellers on ebay are dealers/companies/etc. with hundreds of items and not private individuals selling a few things here and there. Years ago they took things like this pretty serious and did a pretty good job of shutting them down. Seems there's also a lot more incidents of shops overseas that actually make the authentic item selling them "out the back door" for crazy low prices as well showing up on ebay. You see this a lot with high end outdoor clothing now that it's all made overseas, Arcteryx, North Face etc.

While ebay certainly can't keep experts watching every auction, it seems likely to me that most every item of interest has experts/users etc. on ebay that can easily spot these fakes so perhaps we just need to be more diligent about reporting them. I haven't been on ebay nearly as much the last few years as it's just become another website for dealers to sell on at prices you can already buy online at and in many cases much higher.

I noticed the other day on another forum someone posted a link to a set of Leica geovid hd-b binocs that are just hitting the market, from hong kong with a 1 year "seller" warranty, no idea if they are fakes but they obviously are not a dealer and you wouldn't get me to buy them. The other big concern is that some of these fakes now are getting to be pretty darn good quality for example the kevin john knives that are copies and while evidently not the level of quality of most of the knives they copy, it sounds like their quality can approach that of higher end production knives, so if they do a good job on aesthetics they are going to be hard to spot.

Todd, I can say I report every one of these fake listings as soon as I see them. The biggest culprits continue to list and sell the same fakes and with 100% feedback power seller status. It's sad really. The same person/group is selling the majority of these fakes through 1 or 2 ebay accounts. They are making a LOT of money off this considering the prices you can buy these things for from china, $3-7 dollars each usually, and then flipping them for $40-45.

One thing I've noticed is nobody is selling a real looking fake techno. Only a matter of time...
