The best folding blade under 2oz (57g)?

Actually this may be an interesting question for everyone here, does it really make a difference carrying a 2oz vs a 3oz knife in your pant?
For me, most of the time i dont even know how heavy a knife is unless i compare it with another knife side by side. Of course im not talking about very heavy knives like ZT030X, but in general for anything between 2-3oz i cannot tell the difference.

With all the other stuff I carry in my pockets (keys, wallet, phone, pen, light), a weight of the knife really isn't a major factor. For me, the footprint in pocket makes more difference than weight. For example, the ZT 0566 at 5.4oz is nearly twice the weight of a Manix2 LW at 2.9oz (steel vs. FRN), but the ZT actually carries more comfortably in pocket. The weight difference is really only noticeable when I have both knives in hand and am specifically comparing weights.

That William Henry... Geez! Knife porn! But also its like a Rolls Royce dealer trying to sell to a guy who drives Ford Taurus. :) Man. So beautiful. You are a lucky fellow with a good taste.

About Chris Reeve Mnandi... I saw a video about that few years back. Looked really nice but I have forgotten it since then. Might be hard to find? I'll look around. Usually I see just Sebenzas.
Broken Skull might turn heads. Maybe still too scary. I have heard good things about it also. Still too heavy. Now Tufflite might be a contender, never even heard about it. Looks Cold Steel for sure, but tiny. Not sure about the blade shape.

And yes, the weight limit is really harsh as I want noticeably lighter blade than 940-1 is.

Would love Delica4, but I fear its spot has already taken by my PM2. Work carry. Sure its smaller, but then again that is why I got Osborne.

harronek, what is that? Cannot recognize it? Bökers always look interesting.

Well I'm not Harronek, but that sure looks like the Boker Plus Urban Trapper. Come in all titanium, cocobolo, and g10. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the coco and g10 versions have a slightly improved flipper tab and is a smoother flip. But don't quote me on that. The Coco or G10 are definitely on my wish list. I've been really impressed with pretty much all of my Boker's (maybe a couple dozen so far). And given close to a dozen away as gifts.

My vote is for the Spyderco Dragonfly, in straight edge. Looks can be deceiving... don't let the size fool you, it is a very capable knife and short of hard use it can handle most tasks the average person might encounter (letter opening, cardboard cutting, package opening, food prep, etc).

Boker Plus Urban Trapper comes as a liner lock (titanium liners) with Cocobolo or G-10 or CF and as a titanium frame lock. I have the CF model and it's very slim & light but the quality is so so.

Dragonfly 2 is the knife I carry with shorts. 1.2 oz, but I can get all four fingers on it and there are very few realistic knife chores it can't do. Nice choice of steels (mine is the HAP40 version) and colors.

Here are some pics with smalls together with others (to help compare size).

Scallion, Chive, Nano, Dragonfly, Chaparral, Squirt.

Domino (not so tiny), Dragonfly, Chaparral, Positron.

I have the same urban trapper as RamZar and find it really light and the quality of mine was very good.Would highly recommend it for your needs.I think bladehq puts it at 1.77 oz.

+1 BM530 series (531, 475). I have all 3, but the 530 is the lightest out of the 3, maybe even the lightest of all, and my favorite.

It's under appreciated maybe even under rated a little. It's awesome, quite robust and with just enough structural mass to keep it strong with the working parts just working fresh and strong near auto-like action. That detent that does suck it in and that slight pull on the axis causing the blade to actually pop out with the power of omega. Emerson got nothing on this action.

Blade style, body, misunderstood thumb stud. Love it.

Al Mar Ultralight Hawk is a carry dream. Some lament that it's AUS-8, but I don't. My uses for a knife this small and light is limited to opening packages, slicing an apple, and cutting Irish Pennants from my shirt collar. I'm not cutting drywall, chopping kindling or processing an elk. The steel sharpens to very sharp in a very short amount of time.

I love the 530 as well. Carries very light and thin, axis lock is great. You may call the 154CM "borderline", but again... I don't.

I have the cocobolo, and I think it fits OP's list pretty well. The tab on the cocobolo is a bit bigger than the all titanium, so flipping is easier and more consistent. Long blade, takes up no pocket space.
My one issue was the two sides of the scales were a different color (one more reddish, the other brownish). I traded for a second knife, swapped scales, and now have two that look good. No fit/finish issues on my two.

Here's a Shun Higonokami next to a 940 for comparison. The blade and overall lengths look to be pretty close.

Top 3 so far would be:

531 154CM
Urban Trapper Carbon VG-10
Megumi S30V

What kind of quality problems Böker might have?
Megumi is pricey, but lightest too. I kinda like Böker too because its a flipper, and thats always fun!

Thank you for the comparison between Higonokami and 940, btw!

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but I have seen ads for DeeJo Knives. Light weight and lots of design on the little bit of flats, seem to be their main theme. They advertise each knife (or series) in grams. They look interesting, but very light duty. Maybe for when wearing a suit, and need a better steak knife when eating out with a client. [emoji23]. Anyway, a quick search for Deejo should take you to the company or dealers like Knife Center, BHQ, etc. They are all basically the same, with different graphics, sizes, and materials.

Deejos do look suitable for business meals for sure. :) And I like the looks too, but 420 as steel isn't my thing at all. :D

Here's two for you to consider.

A.G. Russell 3-1/2" Titanium Lockback, 1.3 oz. - VG-10
Fallkniven PC, 2.3 oz, - Lam.CoS

spyderco dragonfly here also.

another bonus is that the yellow, H1, is particularly non threatening to the knife squeamish.

Al Mar Falcon Ultralight weighs in at only 1.25 oz and has a 3.1 inch blade. You may not like the AUS8 blade steel, but I've always had good results with it.
The al Mar Falcon UL gets my vote as well. I carry mine everyday regardless of whatever else I have on me. Just disapears.
