The best folding blade under 2oz (57g)?

Cold Steel Lucky One. Talk about ultra light weight: My scale has it at 0.8 ounces. Yep, under even one ounce. Steel is great, S35-VN on a 2.25" blade. It is a slipjoint, but it is plenty stiff to ensure it will protect your fingers. Not to mention it does half a half stop, AND a pocket clip.

This blade has kicked every other folder out of my rotation, including all my locking ones. (I carry a small fixed blade if I really need something strong.)

And did I mention it is gorgeous? (Apologies for the amateur pictures)

Made in Italy as well, so that's kind of cool.

Boker Plus Urban Trapper comes as a liner lock (titanium liners) with Cocobolo or G-10 or CF and as a titanium frame lock. I have the CF model and it's very slim & light but the quality is so so.

I had the Cocobolo version and found it very flimsy (as you would imagine I suppose). It was like a gentleman's steak knife , but not much more IMO. Like all Boker, QC is hit or miss by a large margin in my experience (I went through three samples of the Exskelibur before I gave up, for example).

2oz is a tough order as many great options arrive at 2.5oz. My vote goes to the Dragonfly or the Salt 1, though I've never owned a Chris Reeve Mnandi or the new Spyderco Lil' Lum. I keep trying to love the 531 but kinda hate it, and my sample of the Cold Steel Lucky was marginal.

OP, a lot of gripes in this thread about the 2oz weight limit, but I prefer the same and have had some really cool knives that fit the bill. PM me.

Top 3 so far would be:

531 154CM
Urban Trapper Carbon VG-10
Megumi S30V

What kind of quality problems Böker might have?
Megumi is pricey, but lightest too. I kinda like Böker too because its a flipper, and thats always fun!

Thank you for the comparison between Higonokami and 940, btw!

Both Megumi and Urban Trapper are slimmer than (not as wide as) 531.

My Boker Urban Trapper CF looks nice and the CF has good texture. Being a titanium liner lock it was sticky and rough looking but no worse than an Emerson. The flipper action is okay since the detent is kind of weak. For $83 I guess it's not bad.

One cautionary note on the Benchmade Nak-Locks. It's not a very strong lock and unless you're just using it for light tasks the lock can fail.

Why don't you try a Pallarès? Presumably handmade in Catalonia (still in Spain). They cut a lot and the company, after months of tests, is on the point of releasing one with line lock, but I don't know what model, if a common pocket knife or which. Just take a look at their catalog, above all at pocket knives or pocket knives for collectors: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzoUrUZh1xBjb2g2Y0V1VjBQVDA/view

Hi all!
First I want to thank anyone who has some recommendations for me.
Thank you!
Soooo... I am looking for a folding knife in ultralight -class.
So far my lightest knife has been Benchmade 940-1 and as the summer is coming, and that knife while light can be troublesome too with its weight while wearing just shorts as my phone is getting bigger and bigger... :)
Keys... multitool... few coins... lighter... all these things really start to weight some so next I'm making my knife weight less.

What are the best knives at two ounces (around 60 grams) and hopefully less?
Locking blade would be best (althought I have been looking some high end higonogamis as well).
Blade steel is of some importance too, I don't like cheap tool steels. Also multitools and swiss knives are out of question.
Price... well, it doesn't matter much. I am willing to spend money on this one.

I like slim and thin knives, but it can be on a longer side, as I find long blades more useful. Just the weight is really important.
I don't care about the maker, it can be from any brand. I don't close options down because of the manufacturers style or origin. No racism. :)

Some knives I have been watching are like:
Benchmade Megumi (higher end weight, but good blade lenght, but does it have enough of difference to 940-1?)
Böker Exskelibur 2 Carbon (even lighter and longer blade, but opening looks clumsy)
Higonokami Koriwa and such (super light and super long blade for the weight, but does not lock)
Böker Urban Trapper 42 (nice lenght blade, but lower end steel, might be too "weighty")
Spartan Blades Nymph (awesome weight, nice steel, but is the "lock" any good?, also a bit expensive, but that doesn't matter too much as I said)

All suggestions are really welcome!

It seems that Pallarès has released (or released again...?) the folding knife Pallarès Ares, with an "under lock". I cannot attach any photo sent to me by e-mail from them right today.

Most posters don't read the post dates. Though I'm grateful for the Pallarès link. Great stuff. They have a couple pieces I've been looking for.
