Too expensive. Better values elsewhere. I have a $500 max limit on any knife purchase. No CRK I ever saw (new or used) ever qualified.

BTW, I do own a few knives that are currently valued at over $500 but that's NOT what I paid for them.
Earlier this year I bought a brand new small Sebenza 31 for $412.00 tax included.

In the secondary: You can get plain jane larges and smalls in the 315-375 range, micarta sub 500. It can be done.

Not into small and haven't seen one I'd want to buy for any price. Not saying they aren't "great" knives. They're just not my thing.

I've got over 340 knives in my collection and really don't need another, especially a high priced CRK which doesn't look and isn't made much differently than some of the less expensive but fully functional Ti M390 knives that I also own.

I have two 21's, and at one point I tried to sell them.

And boy am I glad they didn't sell now...

Are they worth the high dollar? No, I dont think so myself, but if you like what you see and pay some close attention to how these folders are put together, they are pretty amazing.

Well one thing is for certain.. that for mass produced knives they retain their value the most.

I chose Benchmade for:
The availability of good steels
Aftermarket parts allow them to be "pimped-out" to become whatever you want
The Axis Lock ramps up the Fidget Factor to World Class levels.
They seem to cut and slice about as well as anything else out there.

I like Spyderco best out of these choices. Their use of new steels helps to push the rest of the industry. Sal actually engages with fans. Knives like the Rockjumper and Dragonfly are fantastic. They definitely have a place in my EDC (and the Z-cut has a place in my kitchen) but they just aren't my favorite.

When it comes down to it, I like a good flipper, a comfortable handle, and a deep-carry clip. Micarta is probably my favorite handle material. I've tried various lock types--Axis, button, compression, and more--but at the end of the day, I still prefer a well-executed liner lock. My needs have best been met by WE and their budget subsidiaries.

Thinking about my favorite knives per price category this year, I think all the contenders have been from WE:

Under $50: Sencut Snap
$50-100: Civivi Bo or possibly the Civivi Riffle
Over $100: WE Seer

Spyderco

Yes…they make great knives. But what makes them special as a company/brand is Sal Glesser. I know that whatever issues I need addressed, I can contact Sal and he will take care of it. Sal goes “the extra” for us. He’s also a genuine patriot and generous man. Spyderco & Sal for the win.

Right now BF is viewed by close to a 1000 registered members, yes, I was expecting more than hardly 100 members to be interested/voted in your poll.
Remember: A lot of those 1,000 hang out in just one or two subforums that interest them the most. Multitools & SAK's and "Whine & Cheese" or the "Traditional" and "Buck" forums, for example. They either never, or once in a green, purple, and chartreuse polkadot or plaid moon enter General.

Ten percent participation isn't bad at all.

Thanks. I just figured we could have a little fun to see what people pick. Didn’t expect people to criticize a lack of participation. It’s not like it’s something I can control… though they might pretend it is.
