-The Best Pack You've Ever Had-

Hard to say, either my Jansport Ranier or another Jansport model that I don't know the name of (it's a taller pack with a waist belt, top loading but frameless.)

I went though a "gearhead" phase and have purchased more packs than I care to remember (in the 20's for sure)... but out of all the packs I've owned the one that still remains is the Canadian Issue Ruck. I know many people who detest this pack because of basic training hell marches.... But for me it is the most comfortable and bombproof piece of kit that I own.

My long distance pack is a Lowe Alpine liberty 75.That pack and I have shared a lot of miles together and I love it more and more the longer I wear it.

I like my Kifaru Scout pack, but for sheeple camo, and still great survival functionality, the Kelty Redwing is one of my favorites.

Kelty Redwings are not only great packs, but a bargain. It seems that I've seen discontinued year models or colors on sale at really low prices from places like Sierra Trading Post and other mailorder outlets for closeout goods, etc..

My hunting buddy bought one from them -a previous year's model in red and yellow; cheap- to take on a camping trip/moose hunt we went on in Quebec. I liked it so much I almost bought one myself (but I have too many packs already, if that's possible).

I have two packs that have served me very well. The first would be my Arcteryx Bora 65. It's hauled everything I've need for multi-day winter mountaineering with ease and still looks new after a bit more than 4 years use. The second would be my Salomon adventure racing pack. I've used that for everything from light and fast peak bagging to multi-day adventure races to ice climbing. It's showing its age a bit, but keeps going strong.

LAGear was selling off some of "The Pack" backpacks at 1/2 price. The packs are made by the Spec-Ops company who make fine combat style knife sheaths. I ordered two of them and when they arrived today was very satisfied. A brown camo seems to be the only color they have left but I know how to do camo with a paint can!

Kifaru XRay... May be the last small to medium pack I'll ever buy... and I, too, have had a few... I also have an old Mtn Smith that's been way modified over the years... Sheeple friendly!
