If you have purchased on the used market, what was the best thing you've ever snagged?

For me it was this Buck 303. It's from 2002, gave it a little TLC and it came out like new.

Few years ago I picked up an “ old rusty knife” in the box for 5 bucks at a garage sale. Took it home and dropped it into mineral oil to remove the dried factory oil off the Buck 319 and put it on my shelf. I sold my Buck collection a couple years ago and remember well how excited the guy that got the 319 was to have a show room fresh example!

Is that a US army bolo?

Something about it looks familiar.
It’s a WWI reproduction from the ‘60s. Japanese made for Kiffe Sporting Goods. Sold with the original WWI sheaths. Kiffe bought a bunch of sheaths after the war and had these bolos made to sell together.
This particular knife was found at a garage sale, in pretty bad shape. My friend bought it, cleaned and polished the blade, rehandeled it, and made a leather sheath for it. This thing is tough as nails and I’ve put it through it’s paces over the years.
My friend’s name was Dub Anderson. A true gentleman and friend.

Would boil down to an original Remington baby muskrat, stag handled bullet knife, found in a junk shop in a painters toolbox. Cost me $3.18 with tax. The runner up is a Care Tested XX green bone stockman that is stone mint, till you open the blades and someone sharpened them with a bench grinder. Cost me a whole $10.

Cheapskate Club member #14 reporting: Um, pretty much most of them...as a hobby-upon-hobby, if you catch my drift, I track certain brands and styles on the bay and one or two other auction sites. I'd say 90%+ of my collection was thusly sourced.

While not used, just pre-owned, I'd say my Chris Reeve Impofu was a most satisfying buy, as well as another CRK, a very early Nyala from before the Idaho Made marking. Always meant to find out how many of those were made, but never got around to it...
