The best used knife you've ever purchased was...?

The Caspian, discontinued and rare, took me about 1 1/2 year to find. The Benchmade, also discontinued and rare(they make a "revised"version, but I hate it), a few weeks only, was a bit lucky there. Both slightly used, but came with original box and I paid, luckily, just about msrp for them both.
Both are used in their intended purpose. That Caspian actually saved the life of one of my buddy.

[Edit] why is my image not showing? It's my own photo, hosted on my own website, and it worked many time, it shows while composing, yet het there's an "x" placeholer here in the final image?

Sure thing; the condition is fine but the original manufacturer’s warranty, perhaps the entire manufacturer is gone, is no longer honored.

In my mind, "used" means it has been used to cut, or has been played with enough that is shows wear. "New in box" means that none of that has taken place. NIB may affect the warranty status, but that would not matter much to me.

This is my current favorite knife in my collection. It’s a safe queen, but absolutely the best knife I have ever purchased, and the most expensive (either NEW or on the secondary). It was already set up with the scale when I bought it. All that SW blue looks even better in person, and I doubt I’ll ever like another knife more than this one.

I consider myself the “caretaker” of this knife lol

Money wise I’ve probably gotten the most out of my PM2s, 0566, 0801s, 0909, and my EDC user Eklipse

Best knife? I can’t call it. I picked up some good ones.

Best deal was a small Inkosi from the Exchange here, several years ago. I haven’t seen one go for less, before or since. It was in really excellent condition too.

Somewhat related, there was a time around 2017 when the Umnumzaan was generally undervalued on the Exchange. Those days are g-g-g-gone.

Unfortunately I'm not able to go places to find those rare gems........
Although I really enjoy seeing what others have found........
This thread is fun and love the photos and stories........

Man... I've gotten a lot of good deals on used knives, but I've been on and off of compulsively checking all the exchanges since 2007. I'm talking really good deals. In this latest bit of knife addiction over the past couple years I got a Bugout for $25, that's probably my best deal. Truth be told though, I've now won a lot of really amazing knives on kniferaffle over the past year, knives that I would normally never in my life put up the money to experience. It's been a really cool way to get knives that I'd never pay for, I have spent a lot of money on buying tickets though, however I do believe I'm ahead.

I bought this Gerber Silver Knight from a site which I think bought batches of knives from TSA seizures and then sold them individually.
Made for Gerber by Geirge Saki Co circa 1980, it has the same blade alloy that Spyderco called, "Gin 1". Amazingly tight tolerances.
