The Big One

Sorry guys about that 41oz.AK,IT IS DEFINETLY SWEET KNIFE.I bought it last week with the help of an addy.;)

The good news is that when you've passed this earthly veil, someone will still be using that 41 ouncer....

Bill, I owe you so much money, I should be allowed to sleep on the floor of the tin hut housing the khukuris....I don't know why debt entitles me to that....funny thing about debt or saving a life; in each case, you can't get rid of the occupant.

Wow. I thought that this was going to be a very straightforward thread, and it's turned philosophical - but that's good! Very good reading!

I have a 22 inch GRS, and it's a GREAT chopper. The length and weight combined make it formidable. It's a little ugly, but that's subjective.

It does take some grunt to use one-handed! :D

I can just swing mine one handed. There's some weight out front when you've got 25".

Swede, anytime I can hyjack a thread into philosophy, personal stories, humor, I will. I notice I get a lot of help.

Yeah, and a lot of it depends on whether you've measured it from somewhere in the middle of your back like Howard or like a cat's tail, from the A$$hole out, such as I would do.:D  :p

Swede, thanks for the help the other day!!!!
It was greatly appreciated!!!!
I found it to be quite useful no matter whether I'm screwed in the long or short run ennyway.:(
Bottom line, unless the VA kicks in is that it looks like I'm gonna find out what it's like to live without pain meds, not something I'm looking forward to, but maybe it's time I really did put up or shut up about the old ndn medicine people. Fortunately I know of one around my age that's in much better shape than I am.:)
I know his mistletoe treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure works, so maybe he's got something for me as well!!!!
The next few months should be interesting around here to say the least.:D

No Yvsa. Why do they do this to servicemen, why do they do this to people? Your pain meds can't cost that much.

Who knows Munk? Why does man always have to be inhumane to his brothers?

Munk, my Oxycontin, a Class II drug, alone is $423.49 a month!!!! My total drug bill per month runs $1939.72!!!!
Type "J" Medigap insurance runs about $216.00 a month and pays up to 50% of $6,000.00 drug bills a year.

My Barbie says we'll make it. Somehow I believe her.:)

I've never formally went to the VA, but I knew a guy that worked there and he took my DD 214 in and said I liked two days having enough time in service on active duty. I was National Guard, but I still served my country and I got an Honorable Discharge which is something a lot of my generation did Not get!!!!
I'm betting that two days won't mean anything to my Congressman or Senator, at least I hope.
I am gonna fight it!!!!

Is there nothing older and less 'developed' than Oxycotin?
Damn, Yvsa, you'd be better off shooting Heroin and that says something for every party involved; the Government, insurance agency, VA, ....
I am really sick to hear this.

The idea behind a free market is that competition lowers prices and increases quality. If it isn't doing that something is wrong, and I suspect we don't have a free market.

Anytime, Yvsa, anytime. I should be home by next Wed. If you want any info on the mistletoe or other drug possibilities, I'll be happy to pass it along to my Barbie also.

Munk, I have really enjoyed this thread and your philosophies. Hijack away!!!! :D :D

After Lama Jigme's wisdom that Bill passed along to me sunk in I am no longer contemplating separating certain Doctor's bodies from their souls. Well, not as much, at least.

On the other hand if someone else were to be out to get the S.O.B.'s, I would probably kick in a case or two of 7.62x39 ammo to help the cause, if someone were to ask me nicely.

Note: the above post is meant to be taken as ironic and satirical.

When I start load development for the 50-140-3&1/4" Sharps, and muttering under my breath about the battle of Adobe Walls, then I'm getting serious.

To get this thread veering back across the track ( however briefly, ) I pulled out the 30" Sirupati to do a tune up on. Large 1/8th" wide crack running over 5 inches long. Time for hose clamps to pull it all together with. Looks like it'll take one or more tubes of regular superglue and maybe one of superglue gel.

Also, ATS34 is the Japanese equivalent of 154CM isn't it? Had a folder with a false edge on top turned into a swedge. Problem is the blackened area was taken down a little too far. Trying some Birchwood Casey Perma Blue Paste Gun Blue on it. Seems to be working, albeit slowly, which I wouldn't expect of a Chrome Moly steel. Can anyone tell me if it's a stainless or not?

Bro, yep & yep.:)

Then that's why it's so slow to take the bluing.

Also, the 30" sirupati crack took two tubes of regular superglue before it started filling up, then almost a third of superglue gel. Sanded down this morning, and it'll require another, thinner application of the gel as it wasn't hardened sufficiently and the sandpaper took off more glue in the crack than off the horn. Next time, file first and use finer grit.

I'd swear the Sirupati is giving off happy and contented vibes to be whole and useful once again.
