The Black Widow - By Rodrigo Sfreddo

At the Piney Woods Hammer-In lat fall, i heard B. R. Hughes say that many of the guys coming up for their JS stamps of late were already doing MS quality work both in it's precision and complexity. When I saw the picture of the intregral that Mr. Sfreddo had as one of his JS test knives, i thought that he is DEFINATELY one of those guys trhat Mr. Hughes was talking about. Amazing stuff.

Another one would be Luciano Dorneles. He is also creating outstanding pieces.

Hey there fellas!

Rodrigo wasn't a member in this forum, and upon my sugestion he signed up. He asked me to post this picture and later on he will be giving you some information about the knife and the welding mark.

Jeff,
It will be awesome to have Rodrigo on board!
Kevin,it's Luciano Dorneles and I believe Coop has an outstanding example of his unless I'm mistaken, and it wouldn't be the first time. :o :D

Hello There! I'm finally here! I'm glad to see many good people around. I tried to be a member of this forum some time ago... But I didn't completed the steps, and ended blocking myself... But now I have a new e-mail,so I'm here!
I was very worried with the comments about the welding mark. But as I can see now, the comments are very kind with my work, thank you fellas!
Sometimes, when you weld many pieces, in this case, many sections of a bar (the Filicietti essembling method), the steel can fold over itself. This is very commom with the ladder pattern, when you forge down the grooves. There's no compromise in the quality of the blade, but we have a black line that look's like a crack. It can be removed, if you have steel enough... In this fighter, It was so small, and the blade was already thin, so I decided to leave this. It can not be felt with the nail, and does not run over the spine (as you can see for the picture), but as it run across the pattern, it didn't disapeared with the etch. I warranty every knife I make, and I make them to be used, even knowing that most of them will never be used...
I would like to thank's all the kind commentes about my work, and the pics posted here. (loved that pic Stephen!)
Sheers!

Rodrigo,
Welcome!
So good to have you with us,your work is truly amazing.
I love the little subtle touches you put on your knives.
Your Damascus is truly incredible,do you like making the single steels or the pattern welded better?

Doug :)

Hello people! Thank's for the comments! Doug, I enjoy everything! I love to forge damascus, but for some designs, especially bowies, I like carbon steel! it look's more classic... it's not the case of this fighter, this look's more for the pimp side... hehehe!

Wellcome Rodrigo! The company here is really good. The only problem with this place is that we can't share any beers and tap each other on the back. Other than that... it's the perfect spot to hang out.

Since Joss posted that beautiful image,I thought I'd stick one up of yours I acquired here on the forums.Apology for the poor pic,it was the sellers,of your Gambler Bowie.
Edited to add:Just realized I posted same pic twice in same thread, was excited about Rodrigo being here. :o :D

Flaw or no flaw. The bottom line is if you want to sell in in the future it will become a barganing chip for the buyer.

By the way, this bowie wasn't influenced by Moran as you though. But I'm curious to see that Moran, I'll look for that...

My mistake then,it was a curly maple, coffin with wire inlay as well and it had a Spanish choil.
I'll try to find it.
