This is my choice. 1 of 13 Limited Edition Buck 212 jigged Buffalo horn scales with wood spacers. View attachment 1665287

The sweeping grind made a generous sharpening choil necessary. Which is the perfect striker for a ferry rod View attachment 1665286

Then I used it to eat corned beef and cabbage with various acidic condiments for about a week. To build a beautiful natural patina View attachment 1665285

Eve, at a glance, I thought those scales were Impala. Are those grooves natural to the horn, or did Buck put them there? I'm a little confused about Impala and anything that looks like it.

“Jigged Buffalo Horn”. The grooves are the “Jigging”. Not natural to the horn. Buffalo horn made to look like Impala sort of an imitation Impala I suppose.

"Museum Quality"?
No... But because it belonged to my Grampa: it is more valuable than anything else I own.
That is just a great looking old knife. Certainly a treasure 👍
How about some Ivory for this virtual museum? GEC #85 Bullet End Jack in interior Elephant Ivory

This thing is a stunner😍

This is tough. I hope someone picks a nice old Randall Model 1 because I nearly did.

I have to go with this thing. It is a marvel in the hand, it just draws you in…the grinds and blade shaping are gorgeous. I wish I was more of a photographer.

BTW: These donations are tax-deductible right?😁

While not the most expensive, rarest, most fascinating knife on the planet, my contribution is a sentimental one. I've told the story before. I was in the hospital, in and out of coherency due to encephalopathy, and was diagnosed with stage 4 liver failure 8/2016. While out of it, my mother, while at the hospital, looked at my phone and saw that I had been looking at a knife on the knife makers exchange on BF. Not knowing my future, she bought me a Matt Bailey Model 2 flipper, geek edition. This knife is in my top 3 most prized possessions, along with the football Walter Payton personally signed with my name on it when I was in the hospital with a brain tumor at age 11.

Cool idea. Now are we talking Art Museum or History Museum? Lol.

Here is my “piece with a long story” for the Art Museum.

Art Museum or History Museum? Why not both? That knife is definitely a work of art if you ask me. I'm not normally that big of a damascus fan, but that one just draws me in. The work on the frame has a similar effect. Like it a lot.

My submission would be this Ruana (late 40's early 50's I believe). A friend gave it to me, a humbling experience. It was his fathers and I reluctantly accepted only because he wanted it to go to a good home and knew I'd take care of it. I cleaned it up years before and maintained it's patina and character. It's an amazing knife with an incredible edge and feels great in hand.

Fine. So, are you supposed to cut with it, or wear it around your neck to Mr. T's next birthday party?

[Edit: In case anyone was wondering, this was meant as a joke. I like Sebenzas, I like damascus and I like engraving. Maybe not so much at the same time is all. Apologies to S & F. :). ]

Mister Coffee, I never meant to set rules really. The only rule I really set is that you could only pick ONE knife. That's it, that's all. The knife each individual picked was totally up to them. Historic, art, worn, new, shiny, dirty, sentimental...all up to the person. It can be any knife they choose. The one they deem the most treasured or prized possession.
What knife would each person pick if there really was an actual Blade Forums Museum built?
If I didnt clarify enough, I apologize. I thought everything was pretty clear. 🤷‍♂️
