The Blade Forums Museum

Probably my Strider Nightmare GB.

1 of 2 that Mick made.

The rise and fall of Mick is a story unto itself, but whether you like the man or not - he was an integral part of moving the knife profession forward and more or less invented the "tactical knife" in the '90s along with Ernie. This opened the floodgates and got us where we are today with countless offerings of "black knives" for "hardcore use" by a multitude of makers and manufacturers.

A project that custom slipjoint (and Civil War expert) Eugene Shadley created for me. This is a replica of the knife Abraham Lincoln carried and had in his pocket the night he was assassinated. It is as exact a replica as possible - with nickel silver frame & bolsters and ivory scales. Amazing that this 6 blade piece is only 5/8” thick. Gene went so far as to visit the Smithsonian museum in Washington, DC to examine Lincoln’s actual knife.

Well, I have to get Sophia in here! She is a Carothers DEK1 in Stonewashed D3V steel with a Swedge and Penetrator Tip and Cocobolo scales with blued titanium fasteners. She is pictured here with new leather pants I'm making that is nearly finished. It is a edge leading RS OWB with a forward cant and some Neatsfoot Oil.

Mister Coffee, I never meant to set rules really. The only rule I really set is that you could only pick ONE knife. That's it, that's all. The knife each individual picked was totally up to them. Historic, art, worn, new, shiny, dirty, sentimental...all up to the person. It can be any knife they choose. The one they deem the most treasured or prized possession.
What knife would each person pick if there really was an actual Blade Forums Museum built?
If I didnt clarify enough, I apologize. I thought everything was pretty clear. 🤷‍♂️

No, you did and yes, it was clear. We're a romantic, rowdy, (almost) uncontrollable bunch of nerds, that's all.

This is really stunning. Very modern and elegant. The steel looks surgical (I can't think of another word).

Who are you callin' romantic?
Do you really need an explanation ? "Romantic" is all out on sensations. I could say it could be the opposed of "Pragmatic" (only facts, so to say). What did sting you ? Evidently, loving or not a knife is a bit (sometimes a lot) emotional.

I was just joshin'. You know that, right?

You were just one of those jokers ? Fun ! Honestly, we have just too many of them. So...
