Received my Boss Jack today thanks to Resinguy! Once again, thanks for hooking me up with your proxy from the creek (Whoever you are, since he wont tell me who.. thanks!)

First impressions, best looking Busse i've ever owned, bar none.

It's a lot lighter than I imagined while still being pretty beefy at the spine.

The edge... it's not "great" and gets hung up in paper in a couple spots, I really don't care at all, just an observation.

The handle is THIN, when I first grabbed it I thought "Oh crap, i'm going to hate it", after holding it for a little while, i've become a fan, this is a keeper for sure!

Honestly, the knife is a great blade at a great price, i'm VERY happy with it, especially with how stout it is!

I also got a Buy Brown kydex sheath, all I have to say is WOW. Dave has been putting out some AWESOME work. It's EXTREMELY secure, and the blade has NO marring from the sheath. I'm really impressed, honestly!

This will serve me well as an EDC/Not at work knife.

Looks like you've got the perfect setup there Mike with the three knife combo. A couple of guys around here have said the same thing about the handles. But they said once they hold them for awhile they feel pretty good. Are you going to do any throwing with the Boss Jack? Congrats on your score, and some nice pics too.:thumbup:

230, nice three blade quiver, I think the Boss Jack is the perfect tweener blade between a folder and NMFBM to cover you in anything. I thought the same about the handle at first but I like the design and size so much, I can deal with the thin handle. It kinda reminds me of the old smaller Kabar that I had when I was a younger.

Ok, now i'm happy with it. Cuts like a light saber now and carries VERY well for a knife this size.

Yeah, it's a looker.

Lighter ?!?! ..now that's funny.

Thought you'd like that.

Very nice.

Now that i've had a little more time to play with it, i'll give my thoughts and be 100% honest.

1. The handle is thin, but even after only a little bit of playing with it, i've grown fond of it. I'm not planning on felling any trees with it, so it's perfect just the way it is.

2. The edge, I'll be honest, was not on par with what a 300 dollar knife should have. The tip was not centered, and although the entire blade would cut you, it hung up in copy paper badly in several spots. It could not shave newspaper. This is kind of a moot point as I had planned on convexing it anyway, only I had planned on doing it AFTER beating it up some. Such is life, it came with a "working" edge, but I think after the comp sarsquatch I was spoiled with just how sharp a Busse can actually come.

3. It carries very well. Now lets be honest here, I'm someone who doesn't mind carrying a 5 inch 1911 and two spare mags, a ZT folder and a light so my opinion might be skewed. I'll say it carries a lot better than my old edc busse, a CG ASH-1.

4. It's thick, but it's thickness DOES NOT hurt it any. The edge makes fine feathersticks, not splinters and cuts tomatoes very thin. I can't comment on the factory edge besides the shaving/paper testing. It feels like a heavy duty knife without being extremely heavy.

5. I said it before, and i'll say it again, it's a GOOD LOOKING KNIFE. I like just looking at it, it's so good looking it almost pains me to use it. There's something about it, I don't know what it is. It's one knife I would buy another one in satin and a cg. I like the fuller, some don't, but it gives it some style. I will say I like the look of the LE satin jack slightly better with its longer ricasso, but function wise, I can't comment which would be better.

Overall, extremely happy with the knife. I'm sure the edge was just a fluke and honestly if it bothered me, BC would have taken care of it quickly for me.

I can honestly say there's nothing more I need to do to the knife to make it "sharper", I hit the leather with some green, then some pink. It glides through everything. With this being an EDC type blade for me, I wanted it to be a tremendous cutter, now I think it is.
