My first thought was, "Meh. I'm not that impressed." But then.... I had to look again. Now I'm more impressed. And it DOES seem to me to be a reasonable cost for that size blade in that steel. I'm going to have to rest on it. If I could get a good line on a DS-8, I'd probably pass on the DB-322. Or not. What do you guys think about the DB-322 that was just announced? Pretty sure there was a proto or two in recent grab bags. The 322 makes me think of Skull and Bones.
This Sunday the DB-322
The Scrap Yard DB-322 sports an 8 blade and backs its strength with a .210 thick piece of SR-101. The flat saber grind begs to cut and the Resiprene C handle brings comfort with every swing. Its looks call out the need to subdue objects in its way. This knife will find its home in the w...forums.scrapyardknives.com

Geez, I am SO CONFLICTED on this one!
ThisI just wish they’d make a choilless 311 in 1/8” thickness. That would be the perfect edc. Poke it in stuff as deep as you want and not have to worry about that goofy elf choil getting hung up - sign me up.

You know it is a simple matter to relieve those choils so they don't hang up, don't you? This
Large choils are useful IMO in that they serve a purpose. You can put your finger in there and choke up. Elf choils and sharpening choils are useless. You know it is a simple matter to relieve those choils so they don't hang up, don't you?
I have a couple of Fallkniven blades that I used to use when I was hunting (I haven't hunted since I started buying Bussekin, even though I keep saying I want to start again, if only to try out all my new Bussekin). Those Fallkniven blades had pronounced sharpening choils that initially were a pain getting hung up in the skin of the deer when I was field dressing. Took a few minutes with a dremel and a file, and no more hang-ups in the skin.
I appreciate having a choil at the base of a blade. Not necessarily a finger choil (although I'm fine WITH them). But a sharpening choil (or lack thereof) has always been a non-starter for me. YMMV, and to each his own. Just throwing that out there.
Definitely had to read that a couple of times...Large child are useful IMO in that they serve a purpose. You can put your finger in there and choke up. Elf choils and sharpening choils are useless.
Corrected. That one shall live in infamy.Definitely had to read that a couple of times...

Well, I suppose "large child" works, but is a little out of context for the discussion. But yeah... I did a double-take on that reply, too.Corrected. That one shall live in infamy.
Large children do serve a purpose, I guess. Hauling logs, hanging up the wash and whatnot.Well, I suppose "large child" works, but is a little out of context for the discussion. But yeah... I did a double-take on that reply, too.
Actually, I went back and read it again. Um... no... doesn't work. Nope!
