The Busse Combat Folder Has Become A Reality . . . And It Only Took 30 Years!!! . . . It Is Coming Friday, September 19, 2025 At 9:00 PM Eastern!!!

Jerry always said he wouldn't do it until it was as strong as a fixed blade.
Integral handle can't come apart. "Axis" type lock is as strong as folding blade locks can be made.
Mission accomplished.
If it was going to be done, it was going to be done in Wauseon.
Thanks Jerry.

I was actually going to post the same with saying great opportunity missed
Guessing the Talon Hole will be on the production model. You can engrave "Prototype" on any piece of titanium. It's lot harder to fill in a talon hole where one didn't exist originally.
Just my assessment, may not be anywhere near accurate.

Talon Hole ?

Please ?

Pretty Please ?

That... and someone also mentioned a 1/4" handle seeming thin. Obvious solution (it's gonna be big, everybody's talking about it): Snakeskin micarta handle inserts.
Ok, we'll settle for Tiger Hide.

Editing: these could be decorative/friction enhancing with little addition to thickness, all the way up to adding 1/16" per side to make the thing 3/8" thick.
And... once milled for the inserts, the aftermarket sector will go bonkers. Another thing Jerry has always done well is help other makers improve their livelihoods (Dave Brown, VJT, Pirtle Made, Mashed Cat, Okuden... you guys rock!).

Cool Ground Troops concept knife. Integral is awesome. Thin, tough blade is sweet. Well done. Nice design. After all these years waiting for a folder, I'm impressed.

Congratulations to mr Busse and his team for his interpretation of what a folding knife should be. Although I like big and heavy folders, a light one with a strong lock and a blade optimized for cut is the way to go. And the choice of the toughest stainless steel in existence for the blade? The favorite steel of PhD metallurgist Roman Landes for his ultra slicers kitchen knives? Perfect.

My guess, the clip
[/QUOTE]

There's a "plunger" and spring assembly rear of the lock on Axis locks & Ram Loks . Those locks have to be anchored somewhere.

Of course this isn't one of those locks. It's a "BLOCK Lock"-- Jerry's words-- undoubtedly Busse proprietary tech.

So all bets are off the table in comparing it to anything that has come before.

Maybe the screw is a combination clip / lock anchor point. Also, looks as if that rear screw may be doing duty holding the rear spacer/lanyard loop.

I'd love to see the "guts" of this guy.

I really really hope it's easy to disassemble / reassemble.

Officially hyped!!! 🤩

I keep wondering if it might be a Shirogorov style multi-row bearings pivot
Talk about smoooooth!
Heck, even single row bearings are super smooth too
Looks like a real winner to me - that thin AEB-L will be phenomenal!
