So are you describing some sort of across the back sheath/carry? Sounds interesting, got any pics? What is the size of the issue khukri?

The best I have to show how it's carried is this pic....the Khukri sheath is sandwiched round the back of the webbing between the kidney pouches and the belt on an angle so that it can be drawn easily when lying prone....

The standard length issue Gurka Khukri has a 10.5/11 inch blade but a Mk IV has been done which has a 12.75 inch blade....the latter one being more recently available to other regiments.

I'm assuming you mean a carry similar to how the main character carried his short blade, in the video game, Assassins Creed?

I don't want to scare those who think Busse Combat knives are ridiculously overpriced. But this was exactly what I, and probably quite a few HOGs too, thought before I catch the INFI bug. For more than three years I didn't even bother to check out postings of BCK forum and spent all my knife money on ZDP189, S90V, and VG10 knives. But eventually I realized using those knives is just like never stepping in pool of water that is more than 10 cm deep; you do enjoy that specifically defined performance safety but pay with the price of cutting out part of life. So even I don't want to offend anyone, I have to say those people think Busse Combat knives are ridiculously overpriced because they don't understand. Unfortunately their knife experience lacks that part of depth so they don't kow what they are missing.

Well....a Gurkha could be described that way....but given the hundreds of years serving with our Army they probably don't see it like that and I don't think of them like that either....many go on to become British Citizens and they earn it the hard way....

cool! is he a Nepal Mercenary?

He is a Gurkha. Gurkhas are elite units of native Nepali and (some) northern Indian soldiers who make up regular units in the British and Indian armies and the Singapore Police Force as well as Palace/Body Guards of a few other nations. They are some of the most feared warriors, and make up what is arguably one of the greatest infantries on the planet. The Khukuri is their historical weapon of choice. They made it famous.

yeap, don't mess with the ghurka! (funny note, Ghurka without an H is the name for cucumber in Swedish, and Khuk still without the H (kuk) is the name for penis/dick))

guess if i have went through some embarrassing moments in class shouting out" DAM I WANT THAT KHUK!" while surfing instead of working
