The Busse NMSFNO

Well guys, I tried to get in touch with Busse Custom shop about a knife that I would like to be made, that being the design exactly like the busse nuclear meltdown special forces natural outlaw with a convex edge and 5/16 inch thick blade with a satin finish. Does anyone one on here know around how much this knife would be? I hoping no more than 1100. Any info would be helpful for anyone that has bought a knife similar to this from them since I am new to the knife game and would like to have a ball park guess of the price. Thanks a bunch.
 
I have no idea if they would make one that thick, but guessing they would not. I bet they have very specific programs for the NM blanks that would only work with thicknesses very close to the original. Otherwise they would have additional tooling/programming/setup costs that would prohibit one off orders. So 1/4" yes most likely. I bet there is someone who has picked up an NMSFNO in a recent show that could give you an idea of price. My guess (only a guess) $400-$500.

Thank you for your help good sir. I really want this knife. So they can make it at the custom shop even though they no longer produce it correct?
 
You said you tried to contact the shop? I suggest you call them if you want to get the ball rolling.

I just called and placed an order. For the NMSFNO with a satin finish, full convex grind and brown micarta handles it was 497. Not too bad. EDITED. Lexi told me the wrong price, the total now is 671, which still isn't bad. She told me the price for the ASH1, still less than what I thought it would be.

That is great pricing given what they are bringing on the second hand market !!!!!
 
That is what I was thinking as well. People want almost a grand for them and mostly people sell items like this at a fraction of the price that they paid, so I figured 1000+
 
:D Just ordered NMSFNO satin with Tequila Sunrise G-10 for $547.

The NMSFNO is a great knife. :thumbup: It is definitely one of my favorites. Be sure to post pictures when you get it!

I can't wait! Also, I'm thinking hard about the Gladius as well. I always wanted a nice sword and after seeing what a member on here put it through with little to no damage to the blade, man I'm sold. Do you happen to know the price? I'm going to call and get a quote tomorrow. My guess would be about 1000-1500 for what I want.
 
IMHO the NMSFNO has no equal in ultra-tough 8" field blades. It is 'The One' for me.

Thanks for the info. I wish I had thought to call the custom shop prior to buying a used one for not much less than what you paid! I agree with what others have said that the NMSFNO is one of the most versatile blades Busse has put out.
