The Busse NMSFNO

well I cancelled my order and ordered the gladius instead guys. Want to get it now then get the NMSFNO later this year.

Well -- it depends on what you're more interested in. The NMSFNO is truly, IMO, the best/most versatile 8 inch Busse blade. Phenomenal. The fact that you were able to get it for that low of a price is actually stunning. I paid about 600 for this bad boy

When I spoke with Lexi, I did not ask lead time. I am anxious to get it, but I figure Spring will be time for a Busse to appear. I love the wait. :D For now just enjoying my ASHBM. Thanks to all.

Everybody that I camp with says it's so big and heavy. Funny, seems just right to me. You won't catch me in the woods without it.

Forgive the blur.

NMSFNO is a great knife. I think the SFNO looks better (more classic lines) but the NM has superb balance in hand. It's a knife that works, something you'd reach for, heavy enough to chop some, but nimble enough to do most everything else.

On another subject, would love to see a straight handled version of the same knife. We could call it the SHNMNO or SHNO -- The 'ShnowMo' or 'The ShitNo' ;-)

John

IMHO the NMSFNO has no equal in ultra-tough 8" field blades. It is 'The One' for me.

BOSS

+1 On that! It's a really awesome all arounder. I think it's perfect at .25 thick IMHO.

That's a great setup BOSS. Is that a spec ops sheath? If so, how do you like it?

Well I cancelled my order for the gladius today... well through a voice-mail. I'm still going with the NMSFNO and I might get the team gemini, both satin. I'll be getting the gladius later this year.

I believe it was the right one. It's funny, because I was looking for really great knives because I believe in the philosophy of you buy once you cry once so I bought two Fallkniven knives. I like them a lot; got the Thor NL1 and the A1, then I found these busse knives and their seemingly magical steel that I just had to have! Haha. Even though I may never need their true measure of durability, I like to know that my knife can handle just about anything that I can throw at it if the need ever arises. Piece of mind in my equipment to me is worth the price tag.

I ABSOLUTELY have the same philosophy. Not only does it provide piece of mind, but it provides a sense of pride knowing you're wielding an exceptional tool

I enjoy having pride in what I own as well. It's nice to be able to use you tools with confidence, so I pay the big bucks now and be truly satisfied instead of constantly buying lesser knives that more than likely would break on me and wishing I had bought the ones I really wanted, when I could have with the money I spent on the cheaper ones. To me the most dangerous question people seem to adhere to is,"Well I will never have to use that." Well....... What if you do? Then you are screwed.

I just called and placed an order. For the NMSFNO with a satin finish, full convex grind and brown micarta handles it was 497. Not too bad.

Wow. That is a lot of Infi for under $500.00. I think I know how I'm going to get my SFNO.

For an off the shelf, readily available 'universal' sheath, the SpecOps is a good value for the $$. It certainly fills the role well enough, and the pouch allows enough room for a decent amount of items.

Ignore. Just called in and ordered a NMSFNO

Thanks to this thread I finally got around to getting my first busse.

I called on 2 other occasions over a year ago to inquire about a nmsfno and they did not have any. Hearing that they were taking orders on them in this thread put a huge smile on my face. I just got off the phone with Lexi who was great to deal with answered my questions and told me exactly what I wanted to hear when inquiring about handle materials.

It's going to be a long winter/spring waiting on delivery though.

What kind of leather sheath would you guys recommend for the NMSFNO? I'm thinking along the lines of a utility (i.e. nothing fancy) style dangler sheath.

I went with a leather Drop loop from Chuddy Bear. But there are some really talented leather guys here, all A++. If you search new leather, I've got a thread with pics TGLB and NMSFNO sheaths.
