The buy before you try giveaway

First of all: thanks to Teddy for this marvellous giveaway. I´m in, glad to take part, but wishing good luck to each participant.
The one that disappointed me was the iconic Buck 110. Bought it because of the adulation you can find on every edge on the internet. And i thougt, you have to have one, if you´re into the traditional ones. When I got it I first was impressed by the look of the knife. Then I but it in my pocket and... gosh, somebody but a brick on my side. Who the hell wants to carry such a load for longer than 5 minutes in a pocket. Obviously it´s impossible to put it somewhere in a suit, it´s not made for this. But even in a jeans it´s far to heavy for me. And I don´t dig pouches on my belt.
Besides this the fit and finish is a little bit ... let´s say: rustic.
So it has to go and make somebody else happy.

Im in! Thanks for the GAW. I would be very happy with that SM swayback jack.

I purchased recently a Northwoods Delta Jack in the new green micarta. Although it looked great in photos, I didnt like the color and feel of the micarta at all. Should have tried for a camel bone.

I'm in! I thought I would love the larger toothpick style pattern, but every one I've had has had very weak springs making me afraid to let anybody else use them. A few times I had to get a different knife for the job at hand so I stopped carrying them. Maybe there are some solid ones I'd try again someday.

The #98 whittler was a BIG disappointment for me...emphasis on the big. I had no idea how large the 98 pattern was. It was hard to tell in the pics without another knife next to it. When I opened the package to find what seemed like a foot-long tube, my heart sank. Inside was a beautiful, well-made pocket machete. I really wanted to like the knife and was hoping for something closer to the size of a 54 pattern, but they can't all be keepers. Still holding out for a Grinling whittler.

An S&M for me too.

Admittedly, 3+ blade knives haven't really jived with me well in most cases.
