I have found my dream car at last.

BTW, 395+ KPH translates to 240+ MPH. It does 0-100 MPH in 3.5 secs. In the article in this week's Autoweek magazine, there is a professional race driver hired to squire the journalists around the track at a press day introduction of the car who described it as "the fastest thing that you can carry a passenger on the street in." Besides that, it's drop dead gorgeous.

Those are sweet. It's a toss up for me between that and this... http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bugatti_veyron.asp

1001 horsepower equip the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 with a level of acceleration unheard of in the sports car segment, propelling it from 0 to 60 mph in just three
seconds and past the 200 mph mark in a mere 14 seconds. Thanks to its 923 lb-ft, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4’s enormous propulsive power is not exhausted until it reaches
252.3 mph (406 km/h): the maximum speed for which chassis and drive train have been designed. Any further performance escalation is limited by current design and construction.

Very nice.

Still, I'm more of an Aston Martin sort of guy. Except for the money part... the money part trips me up every time. And the fashion part. And the accent part. Etc., etc.

Being reasonable, the Ariel Atom is my dream car. Used Atoms are scarse though, so I had to settle for this, the "affordable dream car":

Fuller, where do you put the plywood? :D

You must have read the latest Autoweek. Did you? There is a day-by-day log of living with a Lamborghini Murcielago that included taking 126 pounds of old newspapers to the recycling center and seeing if the standard 4'x8' sheet of plywood would fit into it. They concluded that the only way would be to chop it up into very small pieces.:D

The car of MY dreams is a '63 Corvette Stingray...Silver body, red interior...

...If I ever win the Lottery...:D.

C'mon, glockman, I may appreciate your choice in handguns, but your choice in automobiles leaves something to be desired. I was watching racing at the time and the Cobra, in 260 c.i.d. or 289 c.i.d. form, just blew the "Vettes out of the water. When Chevy went to the 396 and then to the 427 engines, Ol' Shel redesigned the Cobra's antique chassis and stuffed a 427 c.i.d. NASCAR engine into it, creating the 427 SC Ccbra, the ultimate beast of its time.

I'd take the Bugatti Veryon if I could afford it. Can you imagine what the insurance for that thing must be like? I bet it's more than I make in a year just to insure the damn thing. God help you if anything breaks on that mother. Also, sign me up for my own oil well while I'm at it. Don't they get something around 8 mpg?

You're right. The Koenigsegg website says 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds. That would be 0-61.5 mph + or - a bit. Wikipedia has it doing the standing start 1/4 mile in 9.9 secs. at 146 mph. That was good fuel dragster times not so very long ago.

Years ago, Ken Miles did a standing start 0-100-0 mph in 13.5 secs. in a Shelby Cobra 427 SC. I suspect that this record has been beaten, probably several times by now, but I should love to see what the Koenigsegg CCX could do with that test.

A little correction, the Veyron does 0-100km/h (0-60mph) in 2.5 seconds. Not bad for a 2 ton car ;)

I don't know about the CCX but the Veyron did the 0-100-0 in 9.9 seconds.
It could theoretically improve down to about 9 seconds (in needs 5.5 for 0-100 and 3.4 from 100-0)

ill take a nissian skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nür over any other car but they are impossable to get in the us so ill settle with a STi. supercars do nothing for me as they are not practical. with the skyline i can mod it to 500+ WHP for much less then most of the cars listed and still use it as a four door daily driver. Yes the other cars might be faster but i bet that they would still lose to even a stock skyline if you had to carry 5 people plus some cargo :D

Different strokes....

I was born practical & got worse. Beauty & performance are okay but to me my new GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab is the epitome of vehicles .

Uncle [old fart ] Alan ;) :D

I wouldn't want the '63 Corvette to race with...Just to pick up women in.:D.:D.

Modding is for cheapskates who can't afford a more expensive car.

Plus why would you want to drive people around in your car? Tell them to get their own.

And rich people get other people to transport their stuff.

You my friend, do not know how to live large.:)

I was going to mention about the car being on the British television program Top Gear, but the site mentions it already!

The Koenigsegg CCX posted a new lap record on the UK Motor Program Top Gear on Sunday the 28th of May. The CCX, driven by the infamous Stig, achieved a lap time of 1.17.6, slashing the previous lap record of 1.18.4. Read more...
